Etienne Constable, from Seaside, California, was told in July last year by local government officials that he had to build a 6-foot fence to hide the boat from view of his neighbors.

WTF? Why can they do that? If they want a fence they should have to pay for it.

How is that functionally different from finding or creating a different subreddit? On reddit if you got banned from a subreddit, you could just join a different subreddit about the same topic.

Anecdotal. During my dog’s checkup’s they always say he has too much plaque and we can use those treats that clean their teeth. We’ve tried several different brands and they’ve never helped at all.

I’m an optimist, but I think so. The overall trend in humanity’s history is things are getting better. There are less wars, crime, hunger, disease, etc. There have been missteps and steps backwards of course, but overall humanity has been able to overcome major obstacles and I think that will continue.

It may be hard to see right now because there are so many crises we are facing, but it’s always been that way, people are just more informed now.
