Juvyn00b,

And if they do by some stroke of luck you can refinance

Juvyn00b,

I was waiting for Trump to appear somewhere. Didn’t expect this take though!

She was accused of faking an incriminating video of teenage cheerleaders. She was arrested, outcast and condemned. The problem? Nothing was fake after all (www.theguardian.com)

Madi Hime is taking a deep drag on a blue vape in the video, her eyes shut, her face flushed with pleasure. The 16-year-old exhales with her head thrown back, collapsing into laughter that causes smoke to billow out of her mouth. The clip is grainy and shaky – as if shot in low light by someone who had zoomed in on Madi’s...

Juvyn00b,

As someone in the more rural bits, I’ve ridden my bike on 2 lane non marked roads a few times - however, the amount of social media complaining in my town is absolutely appealing when it comes to cars. People complaining about speeding, then complaining about people going 2mph under the speed limit. I do my best to stick to trails or sidewalks because if you happen to inconvenience anyone - they might make it a point for you to have a bad day. And that’s sad.

Juvyn00b,

Exactly my first thought seeing the thumbnail

Juvyn00b,

As someone who dug into it without knowing anything about the fallout stories, I found it really mind numbingly dull for the first 3/4 of the season. It wrapped up at the end nicely and was a good series, but it felt like they weren’t spending enough time on one of the 4 or so main character arcs to keep my attention. Like they knew they had a whole season so they cut everything up and made it as boring as they could… I forced my way through it and am glad I did, but yeah - getting there was more mind numbing than other shows I’ve watched in recent past.

Juvyn00b,

I’ve heard Prince had some rolling pancake parties! Shirts… Blouses…

Juvyn00b,

Get your dance groove on! Dance Dance Karnov!!!

Juvyn00b,

I had the same thoughts as watching it. Mind you I’m not into the games at all, just have a passing familiarity with random Internet articles. It just didn’t seem to move and didn’t focus on one arc long enough to give a crap about anyone until the end where it ties together. I almost stopped watching it because when it would get good, they would invariably cut to another character arc and lose me.

Juvyn00b,

There are some that manage to make it a long life with what most would have issues with (I.e. a lifetime of smoking.) A good friend died recently and he made it to what I would consider a long life. Was able to retire and stay active for years. Got diagnosed with cancer, two weeks later dead after the first chemo therapy. I’m very happy he didn’t live a much longer life - the pain that would have put him in would have been unbearable, and given how quickly he passed in guessing the cancer was fairly advanced…

Juvyn00b,

OMG… That’s the one thing that triggers me every time.

Juvyn00b,

Holy shit I have this same exact problem. Eats one bite and blammo - hiccups

Original Fallout lead Tim Cain loves the new show, but remains baffled by how 'destructive' fans can act toward 'people who are trying to create things' (www.pcgamer.com)

Cain appreciated the performances and storytelling, but singled out how the show nailed the Fallout “vibe” as its biggest achievement. “I was just looking at all the props,” he said of one scene. “I realized after a few minutes went by that I had not followed the dialogue at all, because I was so engrossed by it...

Juvyn00b,

Agreed. I think for the way they had to cut it up and introduce so many seemingly “key” characters, it really dragged on for me until about mid way. And I still didn’t have a good handle on the world as a whole at that point. Feeling like I’m missing something the whole time makes me not want to continue.

Juvyn00b,

As someone who hasn’t played the games and am 5 episodes in, I’m not finding myself particularly attached to the series if that makes sense. I’m also not sure if I shouldn’t just pick the games up on steam and run through them in the coming months - partially because I’m not convinced they’re in my style of play (I mostly like older arcade shmups and fps, like Doom eternal etc). That being said, I can see the direction they’re going. The character development is pretty obvious with only a few a-ha moments. I keep wondering when for those who aren’t as engaged in the game will have a more complete picture, but also understand that most shows didn’t give up the ghost all at once anyways just to rope you in. Curious what others who are only in passing familiarity with the game think as well.

Juvyn00b,

Good call on borderlands. I’m hopeful for that to be good but will make sure my personal bar is low so it doesn’t get soul crushing watching it. Almost done with the season - if I had to say anything, my guess was that it would be a little more science fictiony - of course, there are bits here and there. Perhaps more akin to the BioShock franchise - but again, I was blind coming into it and can see the relationships if you’re knowledgeable on game lore. Good call too on someone else here stating to give the vault number a ring. Saw that pop up while watching today. That was good!

Juvyn00b,

Yeah they’re definitely better now, I’m reading anywhere between 1% per year or 12.5% at year 25. There are other things that can pop up though, micro cracks causing localized overheating of the panel - to backing failures and other physical issues. I’m interested in standing some up at some point but the capital eludes me at the moment.

Juvyn00b,

No worries at all. Like you said though, with advancements people will likely do upgrades over time anyways. I don’t have numbers off the top of my head, but even just the per panel efficiencies have grown fantastically since your last experience.

"DUNE: PART TWO" will be released on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on May 14, 2024. (lemmy.ml)

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two (2024), starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, and Austin Butler. The two releases will be available for purchase on May 14....

Juvyn00b,

Streaming hits April 16th if I recall correctly…

Juvyn00b,

Oh agreed 100%. Only way I would pay 30 is to have a copy of the file in perpetuity. At that, streaming also isn’t going to be the same stream off the Blu-ray, so lower quality at that (perceptible or not)

Juvyn00b,

I don’t know why I never knew that was Carlin. Had an old work friend who would say that all the time.

White Rural Trump Supporters Are a Threat to Democracy (www.thedailybeast.com)

In the popular imagination of many Americans, particularly those on the left side of the political spectrum, the typical MAGA supporter is a rural resident who hates Black and Brown people, loathes liberals, loves gods and guns, believes in myriad conspiracy theories, has little faith in democracy, and is willing to use violence...

Juvyn00b,

Or turning around in their driveways apparently

Juvyn00b,

Salt is an inexpensive preservative. Without it… Not sure what else could be used.
