For all the misinformation on the internet, I wonder what historical events would have happened differently/sooner/never had communication been this immediate.

Even with an Emperor, I'm not sure Imperial Japan could have gotten away with sitting on their hands after Hiroshima if the whole country was aware within like 20 minutes

@SirTapTap From what I've read and heard, it also has a lot to do with how much material and resources you had and how you used them.

The United States was, and still is, a resource rich country, which means that they could invest into projects like the Manhattan one.

Germany did NOT have that richness in resources and towards the end of the war they had more tanks then they had personnel and fuel for it.

If you look at the Freedom Caucus and the Ukraine aide vote, you'll realize the US and Parliamentary systems really don't have much difference after all.

The "two party system" is not actually a system, not enshrined anywhere, has changed values a number of times, and really is quite obviously at this point a natural way democratic countries sort themselves out for better or worse.

@SirTapTap Can confirm. In Sweden there has been two blocks, one on the left, which consists of the Social Democratic Party and it's allies/frenemies, and one on the right, consisting of anti-leftist forces.

The compositions of these blocs have, as you noted, stayed mostly the same. The most recent shake-up of the system was the Center party (former farmers' party turned neo-liberals) leaving the right bloc and being pretty much replaced by the nationalist (former nazi) Sweden Democrats

@SirTapTap Our old cat (RIP) was also kind of like that, although she also liked chicken.

She also absolutely LOVED tuna! If you so much as opened a can even a little she would come running!

@SirTapTap Our did like to eat yogurt from time to time, but that was the extent of her dairy diet.

She would also eat grass sometimes, but I believe that had more to do with digestion or something (?)

@SirTapTap Yeah, that's probably what our cat did as well. We would sometimes find grass in her hairballs.

I don't know how big they usually get, but hers were pretty small.

@SirTapTap Thanks for clearing that up! I've only had one cat and she was pretty small, so I didn't know if hers were standard size or just really small.

Also, I'm fairly certain that she completely wiped out the local rodent population in our neighborhood for a while, along with like two other local cats.
