LrdThndr,

You’re forgetting one thing - the constitution is just paper. It’s not gonna storm out of the archives and hunt down people who violate it. If the republican party decides to ignore it (which they have MANY times), then they’re gonna ignore it. Sure, you can piss and moan about it being illegal during the entire flight to wherever they’re sending you, but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re still on that flight.

Fight against it NOW, before you’re stuffed on a plane to somewhere else.

LrdThndr,

You are a fucking hero. I couldn’t figure out why my Roku TVs were still able to get ads after blocking everything.

LrdThndr,

Nah, you can’t do that bruh. It’s only for emergencies. In fact using it can damage your door. It’s a STUPID fucking design.

LrdThndr,

100% fair. And I agree with you dude. It’s a STUPID fucking design.

But to say there isn’t one at all is disingenuous and detracts from the 100% on the nose argument you’re making.

LrdThndr,

FWIW, I’ve used privacy.com a few times. Works pretty well.

LrdThndr,

You don’t even need to reboot. Just holding the shutdown combination to pull the menu up is enough to activate the passcode lock. You can just hit cancel after that.

Automatic safeties are a thing and pretty common.

In some cases, the safety is built into the trigger or the grip or both. With a grip safety, if you grip the gun properly, the safety turns off. Likewise a trigger may be split, with one piece further forward than the rest. You have to pull the trigger properly to disengage the safety as you shoot it.

see a picture here

In this case you have to pull the trigger properly while also gripping the gun properly. No manual safety, but it still won’t fire if you drop it or a pen works it’s way into the trigger guard in a purse or something.

LrdThndr,

Jesus Christ.

As a Tennessean… fuck Bill Lee. I’m so sick of this shit.

My wife damn near died a few years ago when an ectopic pregnancy ruptured. It would have been a wanted child. If this happened today, I’d lose a wife and our two kids would lose a mother.

Fuck the Republican Party. Fuck anybody who associates with them. Fuck any loser who spouts “both sides” or “genocide Joe” bullshit.

“Firearm” is a legal definition. It’s not that they’re considered something else, it’s just that they don’t fit the legal definition of a “firearm”.

Don’t look at me. Look at the ATF and their weird-ass arbitrary rules and definitions.

LrdThndr,

It’s a point raised in the movie. There were no people in the buildings because the bombings were done at night and the only people that would be in the buildings were a part of the group and knew to be out of them.

I thought for sure this was gonna be “Everywhere at the End of Time”.

If you’re not familiar, it’s a 6 hour audio piece that simulates the descent into dementia ending in the complete loss of oneself and eventually death.

Knowing what it is going in, it’s terrifying to listen to.

The whole thing is on YouTube, posted by the creator without ads, but I’m too lazy to go find it and don’t want the piped link bot to kill me in my sleep.

LrdThndr,

Man, I really wanted to like duck, but I’ve never had duck and enjoyed it. I’ve had it both Chinese and French style, and hated it every time.

The French style was confit du canard from Le Petit Saint-Benoit in Paris, and they’re supposedly famous for it, and I still hated it.

LrdThndr,

Rammstein in Foxboro a year or so ago.

I was expecting a good show but holy shit. Just the atmosphere, effects, stage presence, and showmanship. Best show I’ve ever been to.

Close second is Trans-siberian Orchestra, for similar reasons.

LrdThndr,

I describe that movie to people as “The entire movie is filmed in one continuous shot from the first person perspective of the main character. Which is interesting because he dies 10 minutes in.”

LrdThndr,

And in rural areas, it’ll be called “skeet shooting with prizes”. I know exactly what my redneck neighbors are like…

LrdThndr,

What? This is system programming, not web development.

LrdThndr,

And I was making a joke about the D&D spider goddess.

But the word is “loath,” which has an accepted alternate spelling of “loth”. “Lolth” is the Dungeons and Dragons spider goddess, commonly worshiped by Drow.

LrdThndr,

My wife and I got some a couple weeks ago. They’re good, but not nearly as good as they used to be.

They’re now round instead of oval, and you can tell the molds they used are cheap, because there’s big, evident seams. The flavor is good, but a lot weaker than I remember it. Too heavy on the cream, not enough of the fruit flavor. Plus they’re like triple what they used to cost.

Still good, but not as good as they were.

LrdThndr,

I’ve always thought that ADHD is the most poorly named condition I’ve ever seen. It’s borderline offensive. They named the condition after the fact that other people find us annoying, and even then, the name describes a single sign, and is far from all encompassing. It’s like calling Parkinson’s Disease “shaky hand syndrome”.

The group responsible for the DSM needs to get off its ass and do better.

LrdThndr,

It’s the us. Fahrenheit, bruh.

LrdThndr,

Some of the newer cheaper nest models don’t spin. They have a touch sensor on the right side.

But this looks like a spinny model.

Even if you’re using wireless devices, you almost certainly have a master device that DOES connect via a wire. Wireless thermostats are a recent invention, so if you have a non-newly-constructed home, it’s almost certain that at least one of your thermostats has a hardwire connection.

Pull each off the wall and look behind it. The wires are small, not like household power lines. They only carry 24v, so they look closer to phone wires than anything else, though not exactly.

When you find the wired thermostat, you can replace that one with a nest or ecobee. They come with directions on how to wire them up. The downside is that the other thermostats without a wire will become decorative and not function anymore without the master.

LrdThndr,

Oh. Yeah. If it’s a manual valve turn system, not a central hvac, then a Nest or ecobee won’t work for you.

LrdThndr,

Brewster’s Millions gets more and more realistic by the day.
