My new web novel is now in serialization.

No good deed goes unpunished. As Ume discovers when she rescues Shiomi. Neither Shiomi nor the jealous, vengeful ghost that stalks her appreciates the act. Something they both make clear. As for Ume’s partner, Tomo, he is less than thrilled at the intrusion of an unpleasant third into their relationship. “I know I told you to find someone who would appreciate your advances, but I really question your taste.”

Come, follow Ume-san, Shiomi-san, and the increasingly exasperated Tomo as the three explore their attraction for each other in a world where creepy things wait and watch from the shadows.

Meet Mikawa Kimiko

Mikawa-san is Fukitsu’s biggest fan. A total stan that would do anything for her oshi, to get her oshi. Presents, cheki, tickets, blackmail, nothing is too much. 17 Do you get book cover ideas while you write, and have you ever used those?

I write light novels so art is an integral part of writing. I commission all my art, so yes, I have ideas and yes I have them done for me.

And when I am writing I think about how and where to put in a section that will make a good illustration.

Below is one of the drafts for WIP. I had a long discussion about this piece with my artist. Where I was going for it being accurate to the scene. I lost the discussion, in the end, we went with her idea since it made a better cover and it captured the spirit of things .

Girlfriend:
Shiro: "I'm excited about going into business management. I never realized how much I liked being a leader until I met Kaori. I make mistakes, but I'm learning."

Kaori: "I'm good at my job. I'm a medium and exorcist. But with Shiro's encouragement, I am going to try my hand at writing. About Avalon, a place where you don't have to hide who you are or who you love. A place where hearts meet."

Kan-chan: "Work is work. I wish I could be a full-time maid for Shiro and Kaori."
Shiro: "Maybe when I get out of school and start work, we can afford that."

Konbini Idol
'Ume: "It pays the bills. I don't have to think and leaves me time to do what I really want, write."

Tomo: "I wish I could work more, but I messed up my back."

Shishi: "God I hate it. Dead-end job, in a dead-end place. I was once an idol in 'Tamoto Suzume.' They loved me. All those people came to see me, they would reach out hoping I would touch them. They would buy cheki just to spend a few minutes talking to me. I was flying!"

When she finishes she doesn't look happy.

26: Are your antagonists or protagonists more fashionable?

Protag, def. Clothes are important to both the MC and her love interest. This is true in both of my novels. In the second there are chapters where buying clothes or what they are wearing is almost a third character.

Antag: Yuurei don't care much about clothes. It's pretty stereotypical. Tanya a secondary antag is described as a fashionable gyaru (A Japanese youth style). The progression of Meiko-kun's possession of her is highlighted by the decline of her dress.

But nothing like the MCs who gush over each other's hair and looks, write poems about the same, and spend a fortune so they can make a stunning entrance into a nightclub.

They are really fashion-conscious. I have to ask Nara-san every time what they are wearing and half the time she has some photo from a Japanese fashion magazine. The other times it's anime t-shirts.

Oh, I made that sound like she doesn't give me good ref. She is good at that, but sometimes I need more detail.
