Good news! Booting a Pi 5 from an NVMe SSD behind a PCIe switch is now a thing! https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/1833

It's in the latest firmware update, though I've had a few little issues. I'm debugging them in my Pi PCIe database repo. But very cool!

My fiance thinks it's bad that I think of payments in terms of hours of my life.

I make $22/hr

I paid about one hour of my life for lunch

I went drinking and spent 5 hours of my life there in food and drinks

Rent costs me 20 hours of my life

It helps keep everything in perspective personally

Lots for tech. I'm working IT at an E commerce place, there's an IBM office in town, Lexmark HQ, State Government is near by, and tons of little tech start ups have started popping up trying to catch some of the college graduates.

Also a Toyota plant, Valvoline HQ, and Jiff (peanut butter) plant in town and tons of hospitals and universities.

Lexington is kinda booming and isn't the worst for COL. Lots of reasons I haven't gone home or gone bigger

I'm from West Kentucky close to the Missouri border.

Lexington was the first city in Kentucky to pass anti discrimination laws for LGBTQ folk in 1999.

Plenty of LGBT places and our pride fest is pretty lit. I've been trying to get involved with the Pride Center for a bit but I have a hard time syncing my schedule.

My fiance has been trying to get to a Queer Craft Day at the library for a while.

So pretty good for queer stuff.

My dad lives through me but in a less toxic way.

He REALLY wanted to do IT, but the market for IT in my hometown was awful and he ended up doing truck driving and is now a manager at his distribution hub.

But he loves listening to the weird tickets I've gone through and all that I'm learning about IT. He really wants to try getting into it again, but he won't match his $60k salary job with entry level IT

My non computer friend was complaining about video games and how it anyways felt like a waste of time. And it is and I agree. I cannot commit to most popular games. You won't catch me grinding Fortnite to complete the battle pass or trying to rank up in DotA.

But I can lose DAYS building cute little cities.
