I see very impressive, very complicated #graphs with curves in my TL these days. And again and again the outcry: Why don't people want to understand that!?

Quite simply: because even highly educated non-specialists can't interpret these graphs. Because you show no #context. Tip: Tell the #story behind it! Tell it so that EVERYONE understands it. (That's why I love news for children: they do it!) A survey showed: people want more #explications.1/2

One of the best things about having no algorithm in the is that Americans can finally see that the rest of the industrialized world regards the Republican Party as stupid and evil.

Most Americans really don't know how horribly abnormal that Republicans are.

And it turns out, orcas – especially the kids and teens – just want to have fun. The report reveals that a combination of free time, curiosity and natural playfulness has led to young orcas adopting this 'trend' of boat-bumping, which is not at all surprising for a species that has been known to adopt odd, isolated behaviors from time to time.

For the good of the country, Donald Trump should drop out the 2024 presidential race.
A president should be of decent character. A president should be entrusted to faithfully execute the law. The trial made clear that 💥Trump is not of decent character and has no fealty to the law. 💥
He is a man who had an extramarital affair while his wife was pregnant. He is a man who used a tabloid newspaper to falsely smear his rivals, skirting campaign contribution laws. He is a man who didn’t think twice about falsifying records to cover up his transgressions.
Quibbling about the severity of the crime—falsifying business records in the first degree is not as grave as conspiracy to defraud the United States, to mention just one of Trump’s outstanding indictments—obscures the fact that Trump committed a crime, and did so in a self-serving pursuit of political power.
We know that the Constitution allows a convicted felon to serve as President, but it also decrees that a president “shall be removed” upon “Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
A felony is literally a high crime.
💥Trump would be subject to impeachment and conviction the second after his inauguration. 💥
A two-thirds Senate vote for conviction is extremely unlikely, but to have a president who unquestionably qualifies for impeachment and conviction would wrack America with divisions more intense than we suffered in the last Trump presidency, perhaps more intense than any since the Civil War.

Es geht ja in der Studie nicht drum, ob Generationen schlechter sind als andere. Dies ist eine Zielgruppen-Studie u.a. vom Bildungsfernsehen (Eltern + Schule schneiden nicht besser ab). Da geht es darum herauszufinden, wo die Schwachstellen der Bildung liegen. Die Kids sind ja nicht doof, die wollen mehr Infos über Kontexte.
Stell dir nur mal vor, wieviele Eltern Afd wählen wollen: schon hast du keine Klimabildung im Elternhaus. 🙄

Was man oft unterschätzt: Die Menschen sind derzeit immens erschöpft und überfordert durch die Weltlage (die mich auch immer wütender macht). Das Verdrängen ist dann halt auch ein Überlebensmechanismus. Ein Teufelskreis, aus dem man irgendwie kommen muss. Dazu bräuchte man Visionen statt Untergangslust ...

Aber es täuscht: immens viele Menschen tun sich zusammen, leben neue Entwürfe, probieren Utopien. Demonstrieren gegen Rechts. Aber Algorithmen verstecken sie. Machtgeile übertönen sie.
Zum Einstieg empfehle ich oder die Arbeit von @kathhayhoe zum Klima. Verstärken wir doch solche Stimmen!

Es ist ein Trugschluss, dass die meisten Menschen üble Parteien wählen. Üble Parteien kommen an die Macht durch einen großen Prozentsatz an Stimmen, aber auch, weil viele gar nicht wählen gehen und dann sowas zulassen.
Und diese Unentschlossenen, die Unsicheren zwischendrin, die kann man noch überzeugen, mit denen kann man noch arbeiten.

Ein wunderbares zentrales Angebot hat die @bpb, vor allem für Schulen, junge Leute, ich denke außerdem an deren und . Ihr erinnert euch an den Kampf vor nicht allzu langer Zeit, sie weiter finanziell zu unterstützen?

@_RyekDarkener_ Es gibt und gab wertvolle Engagierte in Brennpunkten wie Sachsen, es gibt Ausstiegshelfende. Auch hier: man hat sie finanziell lang ausgehungert. Sie kommen kaum noch durch in Schulen, weil auch die Lehrerschaft schon angedreckt ist. Strukturen sind da, auf die man aufbauen kann. Aber da hockt leider ein Lindner auf dem Geld. 🙄
