Again internet and telephone were cut in the whole region and promises to repair their net until the 8th (!!!) of June. I got disgusted with the service for a moment because they kept stalling.
Plus some tons of the usual Mastodon mansplaining. 🤢 🤮

Somehow I didn't know anything about "Colonia Dignidad" and now after reading some wikipedia articles I'm deeply disturbed. (It's a cult, run by Germans in Chile after WWII.)

Also there is some kind of edit war on on the Augusto Pinochet page over if he's a fascist or not... the kind of argument that seems to be missing the greater point.

Really I do not know enough about Chilean history.

@lipow I remember this edition of Reader's Digest very well! It was the time (1970s) when Anglo-American journalists investigated groups of German nazis who had fled to Southern America, mostly Chile, Argentina + Bolivia. Nazi hunters around Simon Wiesenthal and the Mossad searched the "Ratlines" for Nazis like Mengele, Eichmann, or Barbie since the early 1960s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratlines_(World_War_II)
