Grande passo avanti. Mi piacerebbe vedere sviluppi simili a Torino, anche se a causa della Fiat siamo sempre gli ultimi o quasi a fare riforme per liberarci dalle auto.

Oh bel libro. L’ho letto più di 10 anni fa e ricordo poco della trama, ma ricordo di averlo molto apprezzato, soprattutto gli aspetti fantascientifici e fantaingegneristici legati alla struttura dell’ascensore spaziale.

Sono finito a rileggere la pagina di wikipedia per ritirare su qualche ricordo, e solo ora noto che è invero ambientato nell’estate del 2024, lol.

OP hai letto altri libri di Schatzing? Prima di Limit ricordo di aver letto “Il quinto giorno”, che mi era piaciuto ancora di più. Per caso ne hai altri da consigliare?

Unfortunately Italy does not have an official national animal, meaning no animals are enshrined in our constitution or any of our national symbols. However if we had one that would definitely be the wolf.

Upgrading from .18.5 all the way to .19.2? That’s quite the jump. Good call on waiting on that, though, .19.0 and .19.1 were quite unstable on my instance. .19.2 is doing great thus far.

Magari non sono iscritto alle comunità giuste, non so, ma guardando il mio feed mi capita abbastanza di rado di vedere post da feddit.it.

Oltre all’ovvia preponderanza angolofona, per esempio, mi sembra ci sia molto più francese da jlai.lu che italico idioma da Feddit. Chissà, magari è solo una mia impressione o una conincidenza. O magari i post di feddit non ricevono mai abbastanza interazioni per finire nel feed “Hot” e così finisco per perdermeli.

It might not be as weird as the bottom one, but I already find the top image to be pretty weird, especially their clothing. I also wouldn’t really describe it as “flamboyant”.

I think apps would need to be rewritten from the ground up with ActivityPods as a basis instead of every software’s ActivityPub implementation. Very interesting technology and it definitely does solve a shortcoming that the Fediverse tends to have at the moment. (Mastodon sorta has a SSO implementation of its own but other services lack it and it’s quite the issue). But I am afraid most Fedi developers won’t rebuild their apps just for this.

Hey this is pretty cool! I wanted something similar for my instance, with a webhook notifying me of any application request, so I can get a notification and react as soon as possible. Well, I ended up having to implement that from scratch within my @AutoMod bot. A solution like this would probably be WAY more efficient than my current setup (with a client continuously polling for new applications). Good stuff!

I have a bit too much stuff going on in my life right now to focus on changing my Lemmy stack, I’ll have to stick to my current setup for the time being.

But I am very much interested in the package. Gonna leave a star on its repo and hopefully I’ll remember to come back to this once my hands are a bit less full than they are now.

Love to read some nuance on the topic. As much as we all repeat to ourselves to “remember the human”, it still doesn’t happen as often as it should.

Always good to remember that very few people are naturally and constantly toxic, most people are just normal folks and everyone has bad days.

You could make the argument that the mall Santas aren’t authorized representatives of real Santa, as they are hired by malls with no supervision from the North Pole administration. Thankfully this doesn’t matter, because Santa himself is a resident of Finland, an EU country, which is also where his business is located. Chistmas is saved, everyone.
