existence of prime ministers implies the existence of composite ministers.

also note: prime ministers often divide.

Rairii,

@rysiek multiply prime ministers together and you get public servant cryptography

Rairii,

@yassie_j do you need a GUIDe for that?

i love how xboxkrnl returns STATUS_TRUST_FAILURE if signature/hash checks fail

which is... not what that NTSTATUS code is for

sure, STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH didn't exist then, but still

mario kart 9 this, mario kart 9 that, clearly nintendo considers mario kart tour the ninth entry, so the next mario kart will be Mario Kart X

Rairii,

@starshine the next mario kart will be mario kart 10

we've had mario kart 8, we've had mario kart 8.1, so they have to skip 9 for rumoured backwards compatibility reasons :D

ok, how about this one

Rairii,

@thomasfuchs ooh, the perfect logo for if i ever port NT to powerpc mac

Rairii, to random

closed source? what's that? oh, you mean reversing skill issue?

Rairii,

@ncommander

i wonder how long it'll take me to figure out the current instability on real hardware.

i would like to attempt a port of ppc nt to powerpc mac too (if i had one)

grackle having proper endianness swapping support, combined with G3 being when actual support for loading veneer was added to OF, combined with apple documentation from that time mentioning an NT port, paints an interesting picture...

i've done all the research i can do with static analysis. i can't experiment with memory controller registers without the actual hardware!

Rairii,

@ncommander "Apple's firmware has serious problems running in little endian mode"

yeah, still not sure what's up with that or what systems are affected. i heard that it was graphics card fcode issues?

not that it actually matters that much considered i worked around the endianness issue on the wii!

Palworld doesn't exist btw. the game does not exist. you can't convince me it does. i hear a lot of yapping about it and why it's the best thing ever or why it's problematic but the game itself doesn't even exist.

Rairii,

@ipg 640x528 50fps palworld or 640x480 60fps palworld?

The next iPhone might come with a shutter button for the camera.

It feels so weird to see Apple and Google come out with "new" features that were on Windows Phones way back in early-2010s, but didn't see any traction until recently. Things like a system-wide dark mode, accent colour themeing, flat/colourful design, and now... The shutter button.

Windows Phone really was ahead of its time, it seems.

Rairii,

@yassie_j windows phone was hilarious at how easy it ended up to be to get SYSTEM

oem-specific updates checking a registry entry that could be changed from within an appcontainer for some reason was hilarious

ugh
I think this font format (BNFR/JNFR) stores the glyphs as nine bits per line.

that is a terrible, terrible number

Rairii,

@Craigp @foone i know a data format exactly like that, it's a serialisation format for midi sysex where it actually makes sense

It's incredible how effective altruists have totally destroyed the notion that someone can just want a better future.

What? This youtuber made a video about how the future can be better and it isn't some EA scam? That doesn't sound likely.
