    Mich hat diesen Monat wiederholt Krankheit auf’s Bett geworfen. Dadurch ist
    mein Fortschritt signifikant gesunken. Aber wie es nun einmal das Schicksal
    von Selbstständigen ist, muss ich mit diesen Auszeiten selber klar kommen.

    This month I was down with different sicknesses. It slowed down my progress
    significantly. But as it is the fate of freelancers I have to cope with those
    downtimes on my own. Today I’m feeling a little bit better and spend the time
    to pick up where I left my progress.

    Liebes @threemaapp team,

    ich war heute mal ein wenig neugierig, ob ihr eine API habt und wie die implementiert wurde.

    Dabei bin ich auf die GitHub Page zum App Remote Protocol gestoßen.
    Laut den General Procedures dort setzt ihr auf Salty RTC.

    Habt ihr auf dem Radar, dass es sich dabei um zwei Menschen handelt?
    Als Unternehmen würde ich erwarten, dass euch an Nachhaltigkeit in der Lieferkette gelegen ist.

    Vielleicht könnt ihr den Menschen dort etwas Aufmerksamkeit zukommen lassen? 🧡

    I agree. A few things popped up in preparation that made me anxious.

    But you've also read that no consulting could be offered ahead of an application.

    So I'm patiently waiting for a good moment to provide feedback to @sovtechfund on their preferred channel.

    Hi,
    Another account of @PaulaToThePeople.

    This is all about #Fairphone.

    The story:
    Do you remember back in the days when #Apple installed the suicide nets in "their" factories?
    That's when I decided I'll no longer buy any Apple products.
    When my iPhone died I looked around for a more sustainable and/or free (as in freedom) option.
    So I stumbled upon Fairphone and bought the #FP1 or rather the #FP1u.
    Soon afterwards I joined the first Fairphone meeting that took place in Vienna, Austria and we founded the @AustrianFairphoners.
    So I joined the Fairphone community on Dec 9, '14 and it was like a family for me for a long time.
    In 2018 I was actually introduced to the #Fediverse via the Fairphone forum.

    In 2019 I joined #FridaysForFuture and ever since, I'm less active with Fairphone, but I would still never buy another phone and if I get the chance to help setup a Fediverse instance for Fairphone of course I will take it. 🙂

    Who else owns a Fairphone here? I'd love to read your Fairphone origin stories. 😉

    My journey, huh?
    My very first smartphone was a #FirefoxOS (Alcatel OneTouch Fire).
    I still have it! It served me well.

    Then, Mozilla killed it. I would still be able to use it, but without support, that could be risky in the long run.

    So what else could I use?
    I didn't want to have an iPhone, Android or Windows Phone, since I don't trust these companies.

    Around this time had ads on Twitter. It picked my interest. Especially since it appeared to be an ethical company that values repair & engages in improving the situation for workers in its supply chain

    Yes, it's running on Android. But buying a was the least of all evils. The one with white translucent back

    I could have gone with flashing CyanogenMod (now known as ) but there's always a risk of bricking. So I didn't

    Somehow I stumbled upon the program in my town and attended a meetup (and subsequently most of them). I wonder whether the Angle is present here on Fediverse. Either now or in the future.

    Anyway, I've learned about the forum and noticed a discussion about building a community map to raise awareness.

    It appeared to be an back and forth without any progress.
    Frustrating!

    In my experience as a Front-end developer I noticed that having something in front of you sparks conversation.

    So I created https://github.com/WeAreFairphone/community-portal under the WeAreFairphone org (recently discovered it again as I these days).

    We made some progress but I think there's a better solution in use now. Anyways, we had progress!

    Now, the team behind @Fairphone is putting so much effort in keeping the phones up-to-date as long as possible (thank you 💖) but at some point the Android is not compatible to the hardware put into the devices. So I had to upgrade.

    Given my positive relationship with Fairphone - the community as well as the company - I stuck to the brand and bought a .

    It's my daily driver ever since.

    Even better: when my wife went through different smartphones by different vendors and managed to get a spider app on each of them, the ability to repair was so convincing that she bought a and is using that nowadays.

    So we have three Fairphone apps in this household now.

    Spreading to more people is not doable right now since Samsung is the only vendor offering assistive support for hard-of-hearing people (next to iPhone).

    I only have anecdotal evidence here.
    Forgejo isn't tracking.
    Gitea might tell trends via its update checker that pings its domain.
    Forgejo disables it by default if I recall correctly.

    I just checked yesterday to find numbers but there are none.

    That being said, sharing press coverage like this helps with awareness which motivates at least me 😺

    Server migration, troubleshooting:

    1. Disk space runs full (ncdu is helpful to spot where to start)
    2. Updating packages
    3. Forgejo crashes over database
    4. Migrated the homepage over
    5. Layout and links break
