I don’t like Biden either, but anyone with half a brain knows there are two choices in the 2020 election. If we had a sane voting system, voting third party might be worth it, but as it stands, no one but you knows your favorite candidate exists and unless you want to become their campaign manager that will still be true in...
Its never time to reshape the Democratic Party. If the democrats win, it will be too early to fix the Democratic Party for millions of reasons. And four years pass and every campaign promise is ignored, and all of a sudden it’s back to 1. Beat the new threat to “democracy” 2. Fix the Democratic Party… ad nauseam forever.
I think that the threat of losing to trump is the most powerful leverage progressives and leftists have at getting actual reformation of the party, and this election is the democrats race to lose.
So right now everyone who is pissed at Biden or the democrats, should be letting their anger known and be as loud as possible about it
There is no better time to make demands from the Democratic Party than right. now. as they need progressives and leftists to win. They have shown time and time again they are not willing to change their party in times of ease.
And i probably will, but this “you don’t have a choice, so shut up about criticizing Biden because in 6 months there will be an election” Is very much bull shit. Sounds like people who are happy with a right wing Democratic Party don’t want the disenfranchised to have a say. Right now is THE time to call out Biden for his horse shit. And if he loses the next election, that’s not on the disenfranchised voters, that’s on the democrats for disenfranchising their voters. If we ever get ranked choice voting i will most Likely never vote democrat again. And i wonder if that’s why they kill voting reform
Accelerationist don’t have the monopoly on good people dying. Good people are dying now. The question is this; given our current back side of all aspects of life, is the current path more or less harmful than radical change? Do you see the current system as capable of the necessary systemic change needed to prevent the furtherance of harm in the future, let alone the current rate of attrition? If not then what else could be proposed? I would prefer to be able to vote solutions into existence.
Revolution is what i see in the future as well. Accelerationists’s goal seems to be to put pressure on the situation. This pressure would force unrest that either results in large systemic change wile the population has at least a little sway left over the government, or failing that, a Revolution. The whole point is to attempt to boil the frog too fast and to get it to jump out of the pot.
The main fear is that with our current rate of decline, the push to Revolution would take so long that by the time people realize what is happening, they will have no say in the political process, and Revolution is that much harder.
But either way it seems there is no escape from the harm to the world’s most vulnerable, i just want to minimize it as much as possible. And i don’t trust the process to enact needed change.
Though i still vote democrat because this thought saddens me and i still have a little hope left.
You really quickly lost the veneer of respectability here. You got too greedy and showed your hand. You see the plan goes you poke at the small kernel of truth, and when someone brings up your candidate who is by all accounts far worse, you play along and agree with this person. You can’t win a direct comparison, so don’t try. You just have to whittle away at the hope for a better future until you get what you want!

Flaco update this morning. Cities are full of hazards for birds of prey. It was nice to think of Flaco being free and living his best life, but he would have been safer in the zoo. I still can’t say that seems like the better option. The enclosures for owls always seem so small in zoos.
There is more to life than living. Sometimes such freedom can allow some to come to harm, but for a brief moment, the skies were theirs. And we are lucky to have shared it with them.
I love the thought of having cities filled with owls who prey on vermin, instead of poisoning everything, and leaving the concrete jungle empty of life
I got the impression that because we poison rats, and owls ate the rats, that we indirectly poisoned Flaco. We need to control rodents, but i would rather not use poison for this reason. A bit more of a direct changeable thing then the city being inherently poisonous
That’s not really a knock against his statement. That he has gotten a lot from Israel for a long time, and so may feel beholden to them.
I am also getting absolute sick of all of the people who are jumping down the throats of people who express weariness at Joe Biden being the democratic nominee. Like ffs, he is in no way representing my interests and is another step tword the right. It may be slower then the full on sprint of the Republican Party, but my ONLY input into this process is my vote. In the primaries i sure as shit did not vote for joe, and anyone refusing to vote because of the bull shit he’s pulled is justified.
Instead of blaming the disenfranchised you and the Democrats should find a better politician and better politics
If i was to guess, there a probably a ton of Bat species we do not know about, that are separated by such minute differences that to play the guessing game would be harrowing.
