Id like to know what means “too much fiddling”. So far in my steam library of 400+ games, there has only been one that didn’t work with my Steam Deck, and it was because the Devs chose Kernel Level Anticheat over making the game available to Linux users.
Hell, the most “fiddling” i do, is “Add game as a non-steam game” through lutris so my controller works in gaming mode. Or maybe I have to change the graphics preset from high to low? If thats too much fiddling than yeah, I guess I’d be curious what you do on windows that isn’t considered fiddling.
Youre constantly forcing your trunk closed? That doesn’t sound normal to me actually, and sounds like the opposite of what I would want. Hello, groceries, important things, stuff I don’t want stolen so goes in the trunk?
People are constantly pushing others toward Linux, because its nothing like it used to be. Id never touched a terminal screen besides a run command in Windows. I still haven’t had to touch when, except for making monecraft work a long time ago. (Which was as easy as copy pasting the commands by the way, and I was not at all doing something typical. Yet the guides were there.)
I can say however, finding a fix on Linux is significantly easier than it can be on windows. Just like any os, you’re gonna find times where you’re alone.
Id say a steam deck is like a console. You turn it on, and you play games. A windows machine at the start is nothing like a console. Updates, forced updates, intrusive AI’s, constant suggestions, nothing is straight forward to me.
Maybe that’s just because I haven’t had to use Windows in the last 5 years, but thats been my experience any time I fire up my desktop.
Yes, those are all things you’ve done now that you’ve set up your windows machine. Those are all steps you took to make life easier, what I’m saying is that requiring those steps makes Windows nothing like my steam deck.
I literally powered it on the first time I got it, installed a game, and played. I can’t say that about a windows machine, ever.
One RUMOR I’ve heard is so it looks like more people are registering with PSN, to make up for loss of PS sales? Doesn’t make the most sense, but I’m sure its a mixture of that and your data $$$
Edit: I’m sure they are using the increase of accounts to make theirs elves look more favorable. All around, it’s shitty, and helldivers will suffer for it. Steam has already allowed refunds from countries that can no longer play.
Which part? I’m sure it would be fraud to pad their numbers that way. Unless they used a seperate metric which looked favorable to shareholders since number of accounts goes up.

Those shitty soap operas generally get views, and it also goes to show that a cartoon is even more rare. The Simpsons is alright, and people clearly do watch it if its still running. Hell, most good shows only get 3 to 5 seasons now if they’re lucky!
You speak so high and might as if its incomprehensible that someone might enjoy this on say, a Steam Deck? Where that risk is significantly mitigated. It was entirely optional to have Sony at the start, its unacceptable that has changed.

If it was mandatory from the start then it shouldn’t have been sold in the countries PSN has deemed unfit. The argument kinda falls apart from there. Probably not even legal to do so, the singlehandedly most scummy move anyone could do though.
Think about it, its mandatory, and you Jo Schmo living in Kazakhstan get to play for months, and now nope. Just nope, they straight lied to your face, took your money happily, rode on the success from you adding to the “total players”, then took it all away.
Generally speaking the threshold for when money becomes evil, is when you’re actively defending, hoarding, and even lashing out at poor people for dare saying you could be using the money better.
If you truly have millions then you could just as easily donate to food shelters, help lobby for laws that don’t ban homelessness, you could even use that money to defend the people who are being squashed by the wealthy.
There are millions of things to do with your millions of dollars, that also won’t leave you broke. Its sad to think you equate helping/donating = becoming poor.
I came from RiF and used Connect for a long time. It had issues with always bringing you back to the top of the page when you would leave the app. Eventually I’ve settled on Boost, and immediately paid for just on the basis that it reminded me so much of RiF (and it works!)
Generally when you can’t remember something, you don’t even know you’ve forgotten it. Do I think this is a lame excuse to ever deadname someone, sure! I am not defending this specific person, however as someone who suffers with similar issues, its infuriating to hear “Well if you cant remember, just Google it!”. Like, you need to understand they don’t realize they’ve even forgotten, and its will make you feel like shit to realize you’ve yet again forgotten something. (And may even feel gaslit if in some circumstances.)
You do understand that all materials degrade right? Something that needs to block put particles so incredibly small isn’t going to be reusable. In a medical setting you would likely not want to have to handle the contaminated filter anyways, so being able to replace one with 100% efficiency would sound like the right move.

You know we are on Lemmy right? Where the majority here are privacy oriented, and may even actively be doing their best to push for others in every aspect to fight back. So, look in front of you and see a gift horse in its mouth. Rossman, AH, lemmy, were fighting back and its starting to show it can work.
Not sure if that last bit is meant as a joke, and while id love to see anything like that happen… I don’t think they would stand a chance saying that, considering AH most likely new from the get go that PSN was not going to be optional, and should not have hidden that info away.
Also, what the fuck is up with them selling the game in other countries, if it truly was “mandatory from the get go” thats the part I just don’t get.
Youre completely right! Yet crypto really doesn’t seem like the right answer here either. Using more energy than several nations for an unstable currency is just not something thats gonna take off. Even if we had unlimited energy, crypto will continue to require more and more making it entirely infeasible.
