For some reason began going down a rabbit hole thinking about this. Let’s say you are blind, and reliant on a guide dog, but end up in prison for a non-violent crime like possession of illegal drugs. (US)For people who have conditions requiring regular medication (diabetes, organ transplant recipients, etc)… i have generally heard that prescriptions are confiscated, and they are frequently dead by the time the drugs are approved.

I suggest looking up what the Pinkertons were about as well. The US had a nasty history when it comes to the poor and people of color who get “uppity”.

They still exist to this day, and do the same business. There more recent thing was being hired by Wizards of the Coast to intimidate someone who received MTG cards before official release date.

This was a big stink on the R site; there is no reason to maintain that company name except to capitalize on its horrifying reputation.

If it had nothing to do with the name, they would have dropped the name. The reputation behind the name is the point. Plenty of people knew who the pinkertons were before Rockstar released grand theft cowboy.

I’ve got a 3800x (in an x570 board) and I’m considering a 5950x upgrade to retire that box to home-server duty, and do a new gaming rig. 5950x averages about $350 USD from what I’ve seen for about a year now

Sony has a history with PC gaming they try to pretend never happened (SOE/Sony Online Entertainment, and the big Rootkit scandal.)

They’ve always shat on PC gaming, they’re just coming to terms with the fact that consoles are practically just PCs at this point and they need to pivot to stay relevant.

I’ve heard so many good things about that show, I’ll get around to watching it at some point! I have a monstrous backlog of things to watch… mostly anime, and a yearly rewatch of LoTR extended (which I’m 1 movie in on right now, the actor for Theoden just died 😢)
