@mekkaokereke More for the people seeing this thread than Mekka but, recent examples of dumb spending: A robot cop (Dalek headass) patrolling times square subway station (though I never saw it before that thing got relegated). "AI" based gun/knife detectors made by a company that got sued recently by their own shareholders saying the things don't work. Anecdotally I've seen them rolling around penn station on a golf cart and watched one patrolling times square station whilst On A Facetime.

Every prisoner that Israel released was a woman or a teenager. And no one really seems to find that odd. I know what Hamas requested; I'm saying it's odd that Israel had that many women and basically children imprisoned.

And most of us would still have no idea if this most recent conflict hadn't occurred.

The mayor of NYC is going to South America on a "fact finding mission," to understand why migrants are here.

What will happen when he discovers that one of the biggest drivers is climate change? Will he then come back and be all in on the Green New Deal? Or will absolutely nothing change, and he'll still ask people to come back into the office, commuting unnecessarily, just to prop up commercial real estate prices?

Climate changes. Crops fail. People go hungry. People start walking North.

@mekkaokereke It's big fuck Eric Adams energy round here lol at least from people I talk to. He's too busy piloting robot cop programs and defunding libraries and going to Israel and shit to even give warning about our own climate issues let alone at a global scale.
