@MsMerope But yes, that would be #1 on my list of "bad stuff that could happen in 2024" list (for folks who don't live in hurricane areas). And, globally. #2 is super-crazy-hurricanes level Texas, Louisiana, or Florida. #3 is H5N1 hops from cows to humans and then it's all bets off. #4 is western wildfires, but that is an assumed risk; that said, a lot of the flammable stuff caught fire in the last 8 years or so, so less fuel. But heatwaves are #1.
After getting back into bicycling, suddenly realize HOW MUCH of towns here in Southern California are built around cars, and getting cars from place to place (and not so much people). You're so blind to those design choices when you're in a car! #BikeTooter
