@thepanz Hi there! Historically, and for the foreseeable future, we'll continue matching software versions with our RHEL equivalent version. Unfortunately, that means we're locked to what Red Hat ships, and we won't be updating Podman to v5 until they do.
HT to @wdormann here - somebody has backdoored the open source project XZ which has downstream impacts.
For example, although OpenSSH doesnโt use XZ, Debian patch OpenSSH and introduced a dependency which translates as the XZ changes introducing a sshd authentication bypass backdoor it appears.
One dude bothered to investigate in his free time about why ssh was running slow, so it was caught fairly early - i.e. hopefully before distros started bundling it.
Exciting times at AlmaLinux Day: Germany during CloudFest! Jonas Trรผstedt was a part of the keynote talk on "Stability, Security, and Strength of the AlmaLinux community". We were happy to present our data center automation tool, orcharhino, and to contribute to the future of open source! Thanks @almalinux for the invitation! ๐
Individual investments from people who believe in what weโre doing help us in ways you cannot imagine.

@iw@linuxmagazine Hi there! 9.3 only dropped last week, so 9.2 makes sense in this case. Tons of folks still use physical install disks, too, and can update with ease. Might not be best for you, but I know some folks who will like it, for sure. :)
