My friends and I were all assigned middle seats on this ridiculously long flight back home. :blobfoxterrified: They charge 2000 yen per person to pick a non-middle seat.

I guess I'll drink less liquids to not have to disturb the either of the two Japanese dudes on either side of me. I may sound friendly and outgoing online, but I'm a mess IRL :ablobcatnodmeltcry:

I finally saw Ezo Fuji (Mt Yotei) with my own eyes. Lake Toya is a driving destination, do NOT waste time walking, walking on roads is horrible. The bicycle shop closes super early too, so start early if you prefer that.

literally accelerated , especially the work of Arch Patton, who started the trend of supercharging C executive salaries. And the current trend of 'reorganizing' via layoffs is from them. They're famous for taking the best students of top schools and overworking their employees. People love to go there for a few years because it literally springboards them to better job opportunities, i.e. higher pay :leafeonmoney:

@anianimalsmoe It feels like we have larger structural problems that nobody wants to face, like corporations getting way too large and shareholder value devolving everything down to a dollar value with no human value. If our governments could figure that out, then perhaps consultants would lose some of their power.

I saw a lot of deserved trashing of Patreon's new logo but I've seen less discussion noticing the site itself sucks now. Everything's a deeply ugly beige now. The chronological feed is now completely gone and the front page is a totally useless view where it shows you three posts from each page you follow, even if some of the people you follow haven't updated in months. There's an absolutely awful, un-customizable "notifications" view which shows the exact same information as your front page

@mcc The feed is one of the more confusing bits to me. I could see an argument that it makes discovering content from one creator easier because they're clumped together, but it also means it's more difficult to figure out what's new. And then direct messages are buried like two layers deep now, so if that's how a creator shares some of their deliverables it's just, ugh. One of those moments of - am I using this wrong? Am I the fringe user they don't care about?!?

The entire USA has decided we're all going to break the same law a little bit. And the cops get to decide on any given day by how much we have to break the law before we actually get in trouble.

This has been a discussion of highway speed limits.
