Ok I am going to brag about my tattoo. The TRAPPIST-1 planetary system played a fundamental role in my PhD research, and I was PI on >40 hrs total observing time of the star with the VLA and ALMA radio telescopes.

Going across my arms are the star & all (known) TRAPPIST-1 planets, and when I hold my arms out their distances are to scale.

this Annihilation bullshit is called a slime mold. Neither real mold nor fungus, slime mold is actually an aggregate of cells that all move together like one giant amoeba.

This one on particular is called fuligo septica, or "dog vomit slime mold". 🧪

Hello! I have maybe a silly question about here - when I'm tootscrolling, I often see posts that have very few favourites but a lot of reposts. On other platforms that typically only happens when people are quote posting to dunk on someone, but that's clearly not the case here.

Am I missing a Mastodon etiquette where reposting things you like is standard but favouriting is not? Or do numbers on favourites not display properly?
