Online listening has overtaken analogue FM* in the UK.

Web, apps, and smart speakers have accounted for a total of 28% UK radio listening in Q1 2024, one percentage point ahead of FM. Mono DAB/DAB+ is still on top though, with 44%. Total digital listening figure is set at 73%.

  • (I know the report says it's FM & AM combined, but obviously and evidently, AM listenership is near zero 🙃)

Dobra bo dostaję wręcz żądania abym komentował live'y (czy raczej od niedawna LAJW-y) XD

No to przez ostatni tydzień nie oglądałem bo 😁 także się nie wypowiem.

Natomiast wiem że Andrzej już chyba ze 2 miesiące nagrywa test Tecsuna PL-330... i dalej nie może nagrać, bo bus XD

Co jeszcze śmieszniejsze, po zrobieniu tego testu on miał go dać swojej mamie, jako radio "w razie W". No cóż, jak na razie ani filmu, ani radia u mamy... 😆

BTW wczoraj też był LAJW, bo były comiesięczne testy łączności kryzysowej w pasmach CB i PMR (polecam!), i w sumie nie będę się zbytnio czepiał go, bo były nasłuchy, były łączności (może tylko szkoda że nie zajrzał na k.11 USB, bo tam Anglia wołała!), a po 21 widzowie naciągnęli Andrzeja nawet na przelot ISS 😅. Ale było też miejsce na obowiązkową dyskusję o busie, a dokładniej o doborze akumulatora do radii w nim zamontowanych - LiFePO4, czy żelowe, czy jeszcze inne?

In other news, my 15x4.5m loop, obviously supposed to work on MW & SW, has just caught LRT Klasika 🇱🇹 on 96.2 MHz as it fades up & down w/ air scatter, if not other scatters too. Juragiai, 10kW (PEP?), 237km, horizontal polarisation, although this loop seems to pick up stuff on both H & V. Oh, and a nice meteor scatter just pinged :) Who needs Yagis? 😂

    Don't be fooled by the signal or SNR levels shown here: this Radio Romania International 🇷🇴 signal is actually pretty weak & noisy, as storm conditions that have been destroying HF comms since Friday evening are still there, even if weaker. S9+10-15dB vs S4 noise level.

    Multiple Ukrainian TV & radio channels have been and/or on Astra 4A (4.8 E) satellite by naZi ruZZia.

    Acc. to reports, interference has been appearing repeatedly for some time now, but peaked on May 9, when naZi hackers managed to replace several channels' output with live footage of "victory parade" in moZcow.

    Guardian reports lost almost a quarter of viewership in the UK this year compared to last. But note last year's show was organized in Liverpool, by the BBC.

    Anyway, I'd love to see viewing figures in other countries as well; this should help prove the theory that got more points from the public thanks to other people boycotting it 🙃

    The EBU apparently didn’t allow the Israeli presenter to wear a yellow ribbon pin. Because reminding the world of the hostages, not just Israeli but of many nationalities, is “political.” Just like mourning the massacre at a music festival is “political,” so the original Israeli song lyrics were disqualified. The world is working hard and actively to promote a collective amnesia of the 7 October pogrom. It has been 219 days.

    @velobetty OK, we do have a "monarcha" in Polish too, although I guess some would rather feminize it as "monarchini" 😂

    FYI, although I try to respect it, personally I don't believe in non-binarism. It seems to be a (very) new thing in Poland too. So don't get mad at me if I continue to call whoever looks like a man a man, and whoever looks like a woman a woman 🤠

    OK, in the end it turns out my 91.1 FM Aurora catch from 3am yesterday was NOT SWR1 RP.

    I wrote to the station using the form on their website https://www.swr.de/swr1/rp/kontakt/swr1rp-mail-ins-studio-100.html
    and got a reply from Jürgen Kurth, DG7KH, who could not confirm my YT recording be of SWR1 RP. He even sent an off-air recording of the station at the same time as my recording, and they definitely don't match.

    So what is it? Next guess, probably the more obvious one is Antenne Brandenburg, 20kW from Casekow.

    So far no on FM, and there's actually a fair amount of activity on HF, including 3 29B6s around 15 MHz, and a very strong VOA Hausa on 15185 kHz, I think from Santa Maria di Galeria🇻🇦
