@palestine @Miro_Collas @LeftistLawyer @LALegault @nicholas_saunders The ICJ has already given a legal opinion that Israel can not use the right of self defence when it is the occupying power. This was in the case against the apartheid wall.

@nicholas_saunders @palestine @Miro_Collas @LeftistLawyer @LALegault A propotionate attack in response to the Hamas incursion would surely be OK, but this is genocidal and so the ICJ has found the charges plausible. Self defence is limited and does not extend to genocide.
Personally I find the self defence argument ridiculous because the Israelis were the occupying power at the time.

Hamas is not a party in the case. Israel can initiate a case against the Palestinians but chooses not to.

    For some reason I cannot upload the clip— but it has come out that the information that those 12 UNWRA employees being accused of being a part of Hamas was information obtained through “advanced interrogation techniques,” which always means torture.

    Less than 24 hours before the ICJ hearings and for the first time, Israel's Netanyahu speaks in English claiming that he doesn't seek to expel Palestinians from Gaza.

    "Israel has no intention of permanently occupying Gaza or displacing its civilian population. Israel is fighting Hamas terrorists, not the Palestinian population, and we are doing so in full compliance with international law", he claimed.
