Ugh. Most depressing Dutch commute ride in ages 😬

Roughly 80% of other cyclists on e-bikes, including many kids as young as ten. So many on those awful fat bikes 🙁

One dude passed me on an s-pedelec doing 40km/h, without legally required plates & helmet 😠

Souped-up moped passed me aggressively doing 80km/h+ on the bike path, also illegal 😡

Finally, massive black Humvee accelerated & illegal crossed multiple lanes at a roundabout so he could cut me off 🤬

Some days, honestly … 🤷‍♂️

I still think the most under-reported, most holy shit tech story of the last 5+ years is how good e-bikes have gotten and how much more affordable a decent e-bike has become.

E-cars and trucks are a nice change but mostly meh. E-bikes, tho? They are magic.

They deserve subsidies and way more press attention.

@donaldball @ryansingel @mekkaokereke For a relative with chronic fatigue syndrome, her e-bike represents freedom and gives her the ability to live on her own.

Here's today's press release for JAXA's SLIM lunar landing!

TL;DR:

Pinpoint site identification was crazily successful.

We were lowering into position, detecting boulders like a champ.

THEN ONE OF THE ENGINES DROPPED OFF.

(I kid you not)

(we don't know why yet)

(maybe space pirates)

But we still soft-landed on 1 engine.

(TAKE THAT SPACE PIRATES!)

but on our head.

Strangely, might not be a big deal once the Sun moves round to the other side of the spacecraft.

@elizabethtasker Google translate does a creditable job translating JAXA's release. Nothing like an actual translation, but a fair fraction of the information is available. Hoping for the best on the solar exposure!
