TIL that if you need to have a form control (aka input) inside a form but at same time do not want to have it be part of the list of controls being sent to the server upon submit, you can either make it an "unsuccessful control" or you can rewire it to be part of another form (even if that doesn't exist):

@webrocker @Schepp We have this use case in the Kirby Panel quite a lot actually. Think about the blocks or structure fields with a form for each block or row inside the main form. We handle all that stuff via JS, but I love the idea to properly connect the nested fields to a different form via form attribute.

I also just learned about xmp from the CodePen for the first time. What a shame that it has been deprecated. I think it's pretty useful.

@yatil @webrocker das versuchen wir schon seit Wochen. Wir werden von einer seltsamen Support Antwort zur nächsten geschickt und haben mittlerweile schon drei Schadensmeldungen aufgegeben.

Marc‘s post is a reminder how hard social media has become. It’s the fragmentation, but also the general mood and crap on all those platforms. It has never been in a worse state in my opinion. You can still reach your core community with a lot of work, but getting through to new people is such a fight against windmills. It’s energy-draining. Especially for smaller companies or events.

@normanposselt I agree. You need a strategy, continuity and a lot of time to see some results if you are lucky. It's so much about making algos happy, knowing what to post, when to post and how to trigger reactions. You have to play the "influencer" game and that's the point where it is no longer possible to keep it up as a personal thing that can lead to enough honest reactions without being invested 24/7

@marcthiele @normanposselt @btconf Yep, it's such a stupid treadmill and it also comes at another cost. You produce more to be seen, but at the same time honest reactions go down because while the algo might be happy, your true followers are annoyed or no longer interested by all that content.

Interesting experience at the Nissan dealership today. All the sales staff were busy, so had a chance to have a poke around and not be bothered! Got in the back of a Qashqai, and shut the door to test the space.

It was child locked.

No one around to help. I ended up climbing through to the front (which felt like it took at least 5 mins of grunting), and that’s why we’re not buying a Nissan! I’m sure I’ll be on their CCTV 😂

I just let Claude write a short article about :has() as a test and while it got browser support wrong (probably because of older training data) the code examples turned out far better than those in the latest piece by DigitalOcean on CSS-Tricks… 🫣

@pallenberg Das ist in meiner Heimatstadt Freiburg schon seit meiner Kindheit so. Ich hab da ehrlich gesagt nie drüber nachgedacht, weil ich halt damit aufgewachsen bin, aber es macht im Gesamtbild einen riesigen Unterschied.

@elliotjaystocks the typos in print material are the worst. No matter how long you try to find them all before sending it to the printer. It must be some sort of universal curse. Like the disappearance of socks in the washing machine.
