Our daughter and son-in-law are moving. As they were cleaning out their shed they were greeted by a two foot long copperhead.

Our daughter moved a storage tote and there it was. It struck out and luckily it hit the tote.

She, her hubby, and children are all fine.

Pro cat tip: if you have need to scruff your cat for more than ten seconds or so, remember to adjust / re-grip now and then to avoid pinching one spot too long. It does hurt after a bit.

Also, never hold a full-size cat by their scruff alone. They’re not kittens and that WILL hurt.

Wade thought maybe the Hoseheads' silence was because they viewed his confusion as a sign of his ignorance. It was in fact their face and neck holes slamming open with a wet pop. In either case, Wade turned from pink to darker pink - a sign the aliens correctly guessed as anger and embarrassment.

"Fuckin’ hosehead fuckers,” Wade screamed, fumbling as he drew his Fatass disruptor from his holster.

The Hoseheads’ holes puckered…

Anyone else experiencing paused/stopped videos in a background Mobile Safari tab sometimes start again just by browsing the “tiled” tabs (but not selecting or even touching said tab)?

This has been going on for some time and I’m just now certain of the trigger.

@daniel This is called “age”. It’s what punishes us with days of crippling pain for one hour of “sleeping wrong” or carelessly “picking up a moderately heavy book”.

Sometimes age punish us simply for moving as though we’re still full of fresh joint lubricant. How careless! How impertinent!

@jann The real benefit is getting off fossil fuels.

I’d read once that the trouble is to extract industrial levels of power means pursuing geologically active (and so, unstable) areas. That comes with some extreme engineering challenges that change from one site to the next.

So the startup costs for one plant are … unattractive to those holding the purse strings.
