#Portland, it's the last day to submit testimony for the city budget for the next year. Ask for #SafeStreets & traffic-calming hardware. Your testimony can simply be “Please fully fund programs that build and support multimodal transportation, and traffic calming with infrastructure to protect people walking and biking. Monitoring should hold all bureaus accountable for prioritizing resources to transition Portland away from fossil fuels and reduce our GHG emissions."
Memorial Ride & Ghost Bike for David Bentley: Saturday, March 30th, honoring the Portlander who was intentionally hit and killed with a car on SE Belmont near MLK. The ride will meet at 1pm in Waterfront Park near Everett St. #pdxBikes#VisionZero#Portland

Watch for the BikeLoud sweeper in your neighborhood! Volunteers are cleaning up the bike lanes before you get any more flat tires. PBOT needs 2-3 weeks to get a sweeper to every bike lane and many protected bike lanes are difficult for most of their equipment.
#PBOT can't clean many of these lanes during the day with big sweepers that would get stuck in #pdxTraffic! Sweepers on #pdxBikes can be out here taking the edge off of it every day and make a safer ride for everyone in #Portland.
Daytime Holiday Decorations Ride Saturday at 1pm join #BikeLoudPDX at Irving Park for a casual pace family-friendly #pdxBikes ride to see holiday decorations, including the famous Holiday House on NE Alameda. Mid-ride stop at #Portland's Rose City Golf Course Bar & Grill and then loop back to the start. We'll also look at new and planned bike infrastructure projects and recent greenway improvements along the way and discuss the proposed crossing of Sandy at Hancock.
📣 Major victory in our ongoing lawsuit against the City of Portland regarding its failure to comply with Oregon’s landmark #BikeBill. This law, since 1971, requires the inclusion of #transportation for people 🚶+ 🚴 wherever a road is built or rebuilt.
The judge has rejected the City of Portland’s efforts to dismiss this case, and upheld #BikeLoudPDX's "standing" alongside 15 people of #Portland who are impacted by the City’s failures to provide #pdxBikes facilities.
Here are the results of BikeLoud's crash report analysis focusing on the behavioral causes of crashes between #drivers and people on #pdxBikes. This work helps to identify problematic behaviors that often lead to crashes like failing to yield while turning or running a light/stop sign. Most crashes happened during the daytime, clear conditions. #transportation#Portland#VisionZero#BikeTooter
More diverters, faster! PBOT needs to proactively manage car traffic for #Portland to have a connected low-stress bikeway network that provides a convenient & comfortable alternative to driving for families, children, all people. #pdxBikes#ClimateAction
"post-project data showed:
Significant reduction in traffic on the NE Alameda neighborhood greenway.
No significant impacts to nearby local, neighborhood streets.
Note, the picture in their press release is of slow streets barrels and not the centerline turn diverter / modal filter. Signs cowering on the side of the road are useless, let's see if we can get a picture of the actual thing they're bragging about in there...

“The Inner Eastside is rich in public #transit; in walkable, bikeable jobs and services; in mature, beloved street trees. Allowing four floors and corner stores to exist anywhere in these neighborhoods is a natural, efficient way for #Portland to share those assets while it keeps evolving and growing."
We are ashamed our city is working to remove critical #pdxBikes infrastructure already built and spending their valuable resources on this removal over the much needed and overdue work to make our most dangerous streets safer. In the middle of a traffic violence epidemic, in the middle of #PBOT's own budget crisis.
When was the outreach process about the yellow centerline paint and speeding cars? #ClimateCrisis#VisionZero
