@kloud glad you like it! I'm trying to have people pay me in general when using my animations. So I think crediting is not enough for such use case

@kloud 20 is way too many I think!

Here's a demo video of my interactive physarum project.

Longer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hLtjlaVzsk
More information and code: https://github.com/Bleuje/interactive-physarum
(based on algorithm/parameters from Sage Jenson)

@gbip There are two things: particles, with a counter of number of particles on each pixel, and trail map (particles leave a diffused trail). The red component of the color is a function of the particle counter, and the green and blue components are the trail map image with some slight delay.

It can also be controlled with mouse and keyboard instead of gamepad

    @Chancerubbage This is indeed Processing as in Processing.org. I don't understand your other question, but I'm using the Java version of Processing.

    I'm currently working on some interactive realtime project, using the "36 Points" algorithm from Sage Jenson.

    I made some interactive data visualization of temperature changes (so it's showing global warming).

    #PhysicsFactlet
    The Lorenz system is a common example of chaotic dynamics and of a strange attractor.
    Points with very similar initial conditions initially evolve very similarly to each other, until their trajectories diverge from each other, and start moving on a "butterfly"-shaped fractal.
    #Physics #Chaos

    Trajectories of a number of points following the Lorenz system equations, rendered as yellow tubes.

    @bleuje@mastodon.social avatar

    @j_bertolotti if you used approximations with a numerical method to draw these curves, aren't the approximation errors very much impacting the curves after some time because it's chaotic? I've often wondered about that

    @gub 4th dimension is not necessarily time. Here there are 2 * 4 possible directions, so it's 4D. Also 4D because it uses a 4D array of cells. The algorithm to generate the maze is the same as the 2D one. The portals are a way to represent the walls in the new dimensions.

    Here's a web app I made to explore maze generation with priority queue data structure:

    https://bleuje.com/js_sketches/maze-generation-algo/

    I didn't do this on purpose but the algorithm's parameters can be changed while the maze is generated.

    let a(0) = TREE(9), a(i+1) = TREE(a(i))^TREE(a(i))
    let n = a(TREE(9))

    Do you think our universe is such that there are more than TREE(9) other Earths with same people (or atoms) in our n nearest planets?

    (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kruskal%27s_tree_theorem)

    bleuje,
    @bleuje@mastodon.social avatar

    @sepia_sempervirens I kind of asked this for fun, but at the same time I find it interesting. It's also quite sickening to try to be aware of the yes case without thinking in terms of logic (though no need for that TREE stuff, it's the same as thinking there are an infinite number of planets that are under some assumptions). A clear majority of people answered no to the poll, that might be because you can answer no directly if you don't think the universe is infinite.
