I’ve had a cricut for about 2 years and the rubber rollers started to dry out and get super wonky. I’d been dreading opening it up to do the replacement but I finally did it and it worked great.

I used the scrollsaw to make some pawns with compound cuts. No sanding or finish yet. I’m hoping to make a full set eventually

I replaced the display in my mom’s stove this morning. It had been flashing and freezing randomly for about a year. This is apparently a fairly common problem with Samsung stoves based on what I found online.

An LED stove display that is blinking and acting glitchy

I built a coffee and tea organizer with some scrap 1/4” plywood. I still need to add finish but for now the hot beverage accessories have been tamed so I feel a deep inner peace

on one of my teardown videos on youtube, someone just commented that instead of a teardown it was "More like a pet dog destroying a shoe." and it may be the greatest comment i've ever received

sometimes you just need a 2 ms delay between write commands for ✨magic✨

code is written with arduino. cat thermal printer connects over bluetooth. I’ll be writing it up this week

A memento esp32-s3 camera board takes grayscale/gameboy filter photos that are then printed to a thermal printer. The first photo is of a knitted snail and the 2nd is of the cat face on the thermal printer

I’m working on a woodworking project that required cutting a lot of triangles. I came up with using a corner clamp with my miter gauge to make a little jig

i'm really proud of this compass project i just published: https://learn.adafruit.com/qualia-s3-compass

it's coded in and i put a lot of work into it to make sure it was functioning accurately while also looking nice with this round display. this required a lot of math and displayio graphics tricks that will hopefully be a helpful example for folks

One more cat piano mod for meow- power indicator LED. 3D printed a mount for it to match the button color scheme

I finally got around to doing some modifications to the trash cat piano I found a few weeks ago. The batteries and battery section were completely corroded so I changed up the power to be USB-C and 3D printed a new battery compartment cover. I also removed the built-in speaker and added line out. Next I want to add either MIDI or CV in but so far so good

The back of a toy cat piano with a replacement 3D printed battery cover opened showing the power wires running into a usb c pd breakout board for power
The inside of a toy cat piano with wires run for a line out audio circuit

it's @ecken 's first holiday season in massachusetts so yesterday we did a bunch of festive things around boston (most of which i had never done myself despite being here my whole life 😅). we brought the new @adafruit MEMENTO esp32-s3 camera to take some photos. it was super fun and i love how they came out. the process reminded me so much of using disposable cameras with my friends in high school and waiting to see the photos
