I replaced the display in my mom’s stove this morning. It had been flashing and freezing randomly for about a year. This is apparently a fairly common problem with Samsung stoves based on what I found online.

An LED stove display that is blinking and acting glitchy

I finally got around to doing some modifications to the trash cat piano I found a few weeks ago. The batteries and battery section were completely corroded so I changed up the power to be USB-C and 3D printed a new battery compartment cover. I also removed the built-in speaker and added line out. Next I want to add either MIDI or CV in but so far so good

The back of a toy cat piano with a replacement 3D printed battery cover opened showing the power wires running into a usb c pd breakout board for power
The inside of a toy cat piano with wires run for a line out audio circuit
The outside edge of a toy cat piano showing a 1/8” jack and potentiometer mounted to it

i've been working on a project with a Pico W and DVI output that includes weather data. we're having a thunderstorm so that means a rare appearance of the pixelated lightning bolt sprite

I built a coffee and tea organizer with some scrap 1/4” plywood. I still need to add finish but for now the hot beverage accessories have been tamed so I feel a deep inner peace

A wooden organizer with compartments for storing coffee k cups and bags of tea inside of a kitchen cabinet. The drawer in the organizer is open showing tea bags

not sure if the general lethargy and malaise i'm feeling is more from the 4 hours of sleep i had last night or the covid booster i got this morning. i at least completed my laundry and day j0rb tasks before completely turning into a pumpkin 🎃

My PlayStation 2 has stopped reading discs. I tried replacing the disc laser (motors are still functional) but it was not successful so now I’m looking into dumping the bios for emulation

i'm really proud of this compass project i just published: https://learn.adafruit.com/qualia-s3-compass

it's coded in and i put a lot of work into it to make sure it was functioning accurately while also looking nice with this round display. this required a lot of math and displayio graphics tricks that will hopefully be a helpful example for folks

on one of my teardown videos on youtube, someone just commented that instead of a teardown it was "More like a pet dog destroying a shoe." and it may be the greatest comment i've ever received

Added weather data to the sportsball project. Also added a clock that shows if there is no game data available for a team. I sped up the display swap for demo purposes, usually it’s 10 seconds per scene. Coded in
