[47] It was easy to accidentally install internet-browser toolbars in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, especially so for Internet Explorer. 2003 was around the time real stopgaps and security measures were rolling out to prevent installing this type of CPU-eating spyware, and as such, you still found PCs infested with this stuff well into 2005 and, in extreme cases, now.

Some of the classic spyware bars were: MyWebSearch, MySearch, 2020 Search, PowerStrip, Browser Accelerator, DogPile, GoodSearch, Altavista, NetCraft, EarthLinkSearch, NeoPetsSearch, MapStan.net, Teoma, Access One, AimAtSite, ULTRABAR, AskJeevesOfficialBar, Addresses.com, BadAssBuddySearch, and SpiderPilot.

if smell posts were a thing: this post would stunkify your timeline. you would have to filter out smell posts in the mastodon settings or disable the functionality entirely or cover the smell bar on your mobile device and/or desktop pc.

Something I never thought I'd see, an animated series for one of my favorite games, Golden Axe. And on.. Comedy Central? 😂 Intrigued and psyched to see this.

A still of Golden Axe. Gilius and co are gonna fight some skeletons

@jake4480 this is one of those "good ideas" that i'm glad got approved. some goof executive in a cheap suit has a decent sense of humor and some sense for the unique and creative.

Huge thanks to everyone who's been involved with this project!

knowing the base rules, clever grammar, and beautiful/cool/interesting sentences are all well-and-good, but what i find is the hardest part of writing anything is structure. this doesn't only apply to telling stories, but also writing a formal essay and anything else; how should the paragraphs be ordered? obviously in some coherent structure with transitions that make sense and a flow that flows, but how do you do this successfully? that is the hardest part for me.

buru5,
@buru5@mstdn.games avatar

i think a good compromise is to write stream-of-consciousness, then mold that afterwards; move stuff around, delete stuff, and then maybe refine a rough outline from the stream. i've done this once or twice, and it seemed to produce decent results.
