my kid is doing a skate-a-thon for their roller derby team! derby is super queer and a super safe space for LGBT kids to build an awesome support network. sponsor them to help cover rent, equipment costs for new players, and event hosting. you can donate per lap or a flat amount and they're a non profit so it's tax deductable. every donation counts!
Amanda DeWitts Wren Martin Ruins it All. A fab (anti) Valentine's read! Wren is ace and, as class president, needs to help organize the Valentine's Day dance (which they loathe). A nice story about being ace and falling in love.
I have a goal of turning every book I read this year into an earring. I got started a little late in Jan so I missed about 5 of them and have ~5 made so far. I'm not sure that I'll go back and do the ones that I missed.
I knit something for the first time in roughly 13 years. The color was the nonbinary colorway of the Big Twist yarn at JoAnn. I like it but it's giving me less nonbinary vibes and more "adam west as batman" vibes.
Holy shit! Some actual good news for #TransRights and protecting trans kids in NY!
"Schools don’t need professional or parental permission or proof of gender identity."
"Additionally, if a student doesn’t want to share their gender identity or transition plan with their parents, school staff must maintain that confidentiality."
The top layer is often very wet. It's in part of what we put in (lots of coffee grind that I -due to lazyness- dilute with some water to flush it out of the press) and the tower being outside (so rain can get in). It quickly becomes drier in the lower layers though, and the worms don't seem to mind.
Not sure about peak capacity but it can easily deal with the kitchen waste produced by four or five persons.
@Pepijn@chelming@plants Fascinating, thanks for sharing! Based on the image, I'm guessing that the diameter of your bin is about 60 cm (24 inches). Is that correct?
