Seriously, if you are in Florida, consider getting an MMR booster.

I am looking to decorate the bathtub area very tastefully and low-keyed with epoxy sea animals.

chemoelectric,

I used SigWong epoxy because I have a bunch to use up. I have switched to Yieho epoxy as my choice for general purpose resin that doesn't brag it is "industrial" and made from recycled battleships.

I have been doing the sort of things, like little bits of woodwork, that people do, but I have fibromyalgia.

I will recover. Give me time.

Astounding how it is precisely people who cannot construct clear English assertions who become the heads of Ivy League universities.

But my views on the "intellectual classes" are no secret. I believe we entered a new Dark Age a century ago.

The only "humane warfare" is no warfare.

Those who seek anything else and call it "humane warfare" are seeking to sustain the practice of warfare.

There are no settlements in Gaza. Israel pulled out all the Israelis years ago and put up a wall around the place.

You're thinking of the West Bank, which is not run by Hamas.

Now, if you know a way to retaliate against Hamas terrorists in Gaza without massive Israeli military casualties but also without massive Gazan noncombatant casualties, you need to tell Bibi immediately. This remains an unsolved problem.

I got me some shut-eye. Still feel ill.

Corresponds with both my COVID-19 shot and my toothal cleanology. Maybe the spray from the teeth went up the nasalography?

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

Getting the teeth worked on could cause this, but not a routine cleaning and exam.

chemoelectric,

Anyway, that would give you a hell of a multiple toothache, I would think.

@thepoliticalcat That dunderhead Clauser is making news as a "climate denier" now.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@thepoliticalcat But they gave this one a Nobel Prize, and it was FOR the most dunderheaded stuff imaginable: that supposedly there is a magical link between particles that binds them across the universe and causes them to collapse into separate existence only after someone looks at them.

Whereas in fact they are just particles that move around normally, and the mathematics of them when done correctly (that is, not by a physicist) is easy as pie.

Consistency. Anything but consistency is a fraud. https://sfba.social/@oldredsubby/111400473690395704

Physicists are committing fraud, whenever they present a calculation by means other than quantum mechanics that disagrees with quantum mechanics. They are being LIARS.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

Now, are they lying because they are corrupt, or are they lying because they are too addlepated to know better? An addlepated physicist who is part of an entire society of addlepated physicists might as well be corrupt, because as a society it is certainly corrupt.

I am disinclined to repeat statements by either Donald Trump or Binyamin Netanyahu. They both are terrible abusers of human language.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

I am involving myself only in United States affairs, not Israeli ones, mind you. I have enough tsuris for a lifetime, and do not need Israeli tsuris as well.

But I do involve myself with propaganda, as a hobby. And it is a duty to ignore damaging propaganda. We should strive to blank our minds to the words of a Trump or Netanyahu.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

That is my advice on the matter. Not that we should ignore that they say what they say, but that we should pay attention to what they said by blanking our minds to it.

We might note they said something, and tell our followers that they should ignore what was said. That it is best not even to seek it out.

But many will then seek it out. So usually even better not to mention it, but to point out occasionally that there exists this propaganda and it should be ignored, as a civic duty.

@pfpoitras You might really get a kick out of this Bell equivalent. It is a mechanical contraption that does what a Stern-Gerlach magnet does.

https://github.com/chemoelectric/problems-logically-equivalent-to-Bell-tests/tree/main/Stern-Gerlach-Shutters

Just a first draft.

This actually proves Kracklauer wrong about some stuff he said that the magnets and the polarizers were essentially different because the former were ‘quantum’ in some sense and the latter weren’t. Actually there is no such thing as ‘quantum’. There really, really isn’t.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@pfpoitras This word problem looks like it came out of an introductory physics textbook.

Which means that actual physicists today cannot invent nor solve the types of problems that are in introductory physics textbooks.

Instead they construct wild fantasies of ‘entanglement’, ‘action at a distance’, ‘teleportation’, ‘quantum cryptography’, etc., all of it not merely false but logically fallacious.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@pfpoitras This is why I am both so angry and so frightened. We have such an incompetent scientific community and it is also one that will be determined to keep its power.

I shall shorten this for you: "Legislature", where it appears in the Constitution in this context, turns out to mean the general lawmaking power of the state, NOT specifically the Senate, House, Assembly, etc., of each state. Therefore it DOES include decisions by governors, ministers, commissions, courts, etc.

The introduction of quantum mechanical methods for solving physics problems is probably the worst thing that ever happened in the history of the mathematical sciences.

It has brought fundamental progress to a practical halt for an entire century, with no end in sight. It is now also visibly hindering the progress of technologies.

The content-free nature of math means ANY physics problem can be solved by ANY means. So QM ‘finality’ and ‘spookiness’ are superstitions, not science.

@Dianora Things are very bad. Magazines advertize themselves by what? Their "Impact Factor". IOW by their value in advancing a citation-churner's career.

chemoelectric,
@chemoelectric@masto.ai avatar

@Dianora We live in a Dark Age. I mean that quite sincerely. It began a century ago. The scientific era ended roughly with the 19th century.

Technology advances, but it does during Dark Ages. Technology cannot be stopped completely. Fundamental physics pretty much has been.
