For me, the Internet literally was black and white & white—and sometimes black & amber or green.
And it came in about as fast as I could read it, cuz yes I had 300bps at first and then got 1200 when neighbor in the dorm moved up to 2400.

Just saw a video on Superfest glass, which used ion exchange to produce stronger glass. The process was developed by Corning at about the same time. While there was a ready market in DDR for , there wasn't much market for either in the West. Superfest closed in the early 1990s, and Corning shelved their product, until smartphone manufacturers came looking for tougher screens.

What killed Red Lobster? Sure, blundered promotions, but that is not the big thing--they might have recovered from that. The big thing is PE & their propensity to kill things off, sucking marrow from the bone of generally productive concepts. Debt loading is one way, but also real estate shenanigans. Don't come in and pretend you're helping a company grow by selling off assets then making the lease them back at above-market rates.

Yes, and everyone is noticing. Stories on news sites are more and more just crap. News media, don’t try this.

So sits in with band playing "Rockin' in the Free World." Uh, yeah, that's great, but the song title belies the song's true meaning. Sort of like "Born in the USA," isn't a full-throated endorsement of American militarism.

This may not be as bad as using it in campaigns.

Reports that president of gravely injured in apparent assassination attempt.

This sort of thing has big security implications in that it is an Eastern European NATO and EU member state, although is considered a pro-Russian populist.

Site called lapost dot com advertising on social media. Site says it is Los Angeles Post. Cannot find any information about it or its history. “Local” tab is filled with international news, not Los Angeles local news. Most (all?) stories are from Reuters. Not sure what is up, but I’d be cautious about sites just spun up out of nowhere.

I told I wanted an ASCII art of a volvo driving in Texas. It first told me I had to sign in to create images. I told it I wasn't asking for an image, but ASCII art. It then complied with something that doesn't look like a Volvo, and definitely has nothing that even stereotypically looks Texan.

Was fiddling with email from my health insurance company that came "secure" via secure email of some sort. I followed all the instructions and could not get it to open. Finally, tried Chrome and it worked. So the problem appeared to be some compatibility w Cisco's system of encryption/authentication and . I googled it, and found this: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/email_encryption/CRES/recipient_guide/b_Recipient/b_Recipient_chapter_0101.pdf
Scroll down and you'll find that in order to use the thing, you have to turn on cross site scripting.
