For me, the Internet literally was black and white & white—and sometimes black & amber or green.
And it came in about as fast as I could read it, cuz yes I had 300bps at first and then got 1200 when neighbor in the dorm moved up to 2400.

I believe it was @popey on the latest podcast who talked about the joy of programming, using some examples of just coding in plain ol’ php (no frameworks) just to make something.

So, for the last week or so I have been taking an old routine in various languages, .NET and the WinSCP API and rewriting it in plain Python just because. It’s probably all wrong. But I have been chuffed at every stage of the game. I am almost ready to start using it IRL.

@mikemathia @claudiom Heh, managing the one in Baybrook Mall, Clear Lake City was my first “real job” out of college. Still have a warm spot in my heart for them.
