Hey community!

While a lot of people already have moved over to the fediverse from X (formerly known as Twitter), there's still some people that are stuck over there. Mostly citing problems of discovering content or finding an initial home.

I decided to write a document on Notes, which contains starting info and a list of accounts you can add yourself to, if you want 👀

Once some accounts are in the list, I'll also share that on Twitter.

I'm still flabbergasted by Dune Part Two. On the one hand, the story is explained with great attention to detail, especially at the beginning of the movie, but on the other hand, there are the battle scenes with brute sound that almost overwhelms you at times. I was completely sucked into the story. If there really is a part 3, I'm curious to see how Denis Villeneuve will top it.

At the weekend I tried out the new Frontend Editing extension from Georg Ringer.
The extension is quick to set up and works well. I'm still missing the option to add new content elements. But apart from that it works really well.

Georg still urgently needs feedback from editors. So let your editors test it! Each editor can activate the feature individually and the extension can be deleted quickly.

@Xitnelat Ich war gestern auch 6 Stunden im Hallenbad beim Wettkampf der kleinen Tochter. Uff, war das laut, voll und dampfig. Und das alles für weniger als 3 Minuten reine Schwimmzeit 🙈

At some barcamp (was it ?), I attended a session on data anonymization (names, email addresses, IP addresses) while keeping the relational integrity of the data intact. I don't remember the name of the tool, though, and would be grateful for any pointers.

v13.0 has been released 3 weeks ago and on Packagist, I'm seeing 69 installs (as of now):

@helhum meine beiden Mädels nutzen die Boxen seit Jahren. Technik ist sehr robust und wir hatten keine Ausfälle, die ich nicht selbst beheben konnte. Wir haben mehrere Kreativ Tonies, die immer wieder neu bespielt werden. Und wir können eine große Vielfalt von Tonies bei uns in der Stadtbibliothek ausleihen. Der Vortrag zum Hack kam leider zu spät für mich. Und der Tipp mit Einschlaf Musik ist auch super. Haben wir auch gemacht, kaum noch hörbar. Hat meistens hervorragend geklappt!

It’s always great when you perform a major update of a project, and during testing, you consistently find errors, only to later discover that they were not caused by the update.

@markus306 This is a classic! During the upgrade, the project gets more attention than usual and then bugs appear. I've found that it's always a good idea to have a working copy of the project as it was before the upgrade that you can use for comparisons. This helps enormously to check whether the error was really caused by the upgrade.

@againman ist ein Framework und es gibt keinen fertigen Frontend Output. Von daher muss der Editor auch individuell angepasst werden. Details dazu stehen in der Doku:

Wegen Bildern im Editor: dieses Feature wurde schon vor Jahren abgeschafft, da es in der Regel mehr Probleme als Vorteile bringt. In der Regel sollen Redakteure nicht die Möglichkeit haben, Bilder wild im Inhaltsbereich zu platzieren. Dafür gibt es spezielle Inhaltselemente.

@againman Aber vielleicht ist https://extensions.typo3.org/extension/content_blocks auch besser für dich geeignet. Das wird mit v13 in den Core integriert.

@againman Meistens ist so ein freies Platzieren von Bildern nicht gewünscht, weil sich das dann responsiv nur sehr schwer bis gar nicht darstellen lässt. Aber du kannst ja vielleicht Wünsche an deine Admins weitergeben. Text unterstreichen sollte wegen der Usability übrigens ausschließlich Links vorbehalten sein. Und das wird dann automatisch über CSS geregelt.
