@gruff@ChrisMayLA6 which is why the Tories are doubling down on culture war, hence the whole National Socialism, sorry, Conservatism conference the past week. It's all they have left, but it's not going to be enough.
@olimould the Daily Express serves a useful function. When you see your parents start to read it, you know it's time to look for available retirement homes in your area.
@jruoh@jks they are more like apparatchiks working for a Soviet organ such as Pravda in the pre-Glasnost era. Some mild criticism is allowed from time to time, but you are not permitted to question the underlying orthodoxy.
It uses the HTMX SSE extension to handle events generated using PostgreSQL LISTEN/NOTIFY.
The result is a bit hacky but it works...while I had to deal with the usual head-scratching over async, it's much simpler than the usual channels/redis setup.
One thing that's a bit awkward is the HTMX SSE extension has a single "sse-swap" attribute that just inserts content: you don't have the usual fine-grained hx-swap options such as "delete" or "beforeend", so to get it working for any other case (without additional JS) you basically need to use hx-trigger to make another round-trip to the server to fetch the updated content.
Slack desktop just logged me out of all my workspaces after a few days of not even booting up. For months it won't let me upload any file. I don't know if it's a #linux thing but the Slack UX has become utterly abysmal.
As I warned last year. with his money to burn, Musk can flounder around for years before he stumbles on a formula that leverages the eyeballs he still controls. He may have just gotten lucky, thanks to someone as awful and toxic as he is. Be afraid.
