Of course not, he has already done massive damage with carefully cultivated lies and careful marketing.

Wow. Radio 4 news just put
Zarah Sultana on the main 7pm news, criticising David Cameron's hypocrisy in continuing UK arms sales to Israel.
For those who don't know, Sultana is a pro-Palestinian, Muslim leftwing Labour MP who supported Corbyn and is anathema to Starmer and the Labour right.
I nearly fell off my chair.

Well, of course, in the BBC's coverage of Nadhim Zahawi confirming the cost of the settlement he reached with the HMRC over his tax affairs, no mention is made of the use of a SLAPP to stifle comment on these affairs (a SLAPP that has resulted in the lawyer concerned being referred to the Lawyers Disciplinary Tribunal).... are we surprised by this omission? Certainly not.

@ChrisMayLA6 I see he lied about it to Tory Laura this morning too, according to the guy who got the SLAPP, Dan Neidle.
According to Dan's tweet, Zahawi said that "on reflection, perhaps I should have been clearer" that he was under investigation.
However, in the letter Dan received at the time ...
(side note - terrible grammar!)

Another hammer to tackle a vulnerable nut

https://www.computerweekly.com/opinion/Government-plans-to-scan-bank-accounts-of-disabled-people-will-lead-to-another-scandal

Worth a read. This is the paper that broke and carried on reporting on the Post Office Scandal/Larceny well before Private Eye, Panorama or ITV got into it.

'potentially unlimited powers for new “bank scanning” algorithms, which are being proposed to tackle “fraud”… so out of control that the fraud rate for disability benefits is only 0.2%’

Contrary to recent Tory spin, the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) is rejecting 40% of all Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claims.

Shockingly, these include:

50% with cerebral palsy
25% of amputees
40% with muscular dystrophy
45% with multiple sclerosis

This government continues its war on the disabled and vulnerable, purely to appeal to that portion of the electorate which has been taught to believe disability is a scam.

Meanwhile

"The Labour leader had secretly met Elphicke for the first time the previous day, as he has all defectors, to ensure she was prepared for the inevitable scrutiny. "
