Do you consider borrowing the same as pirating them? If not, then what do you think the negative effect of pirating is?

Someone should make a new 16-bit console and put a big marketing push behind it. We keep seeing many new games being made today for our beloved 8-bit and 16-bit systems including and other fan favorites, but the hardware is dying and it’s not easily obtainable, so games are being made out of pure passion and nothing more.

I wonder if such an idea has any chance of success… I would love a new 16-bit handheld in GameBoy format.

I wish to share something amazing about .

On Windows Nvidia dominates gaming. Gamers keep bragging about how they use DLSS, ray-tracing, ray-reconstruction, frame generation...

Then we have YT channels such as DigitalFoundry who are perhaps honest geeks, but the effect they have on gamers is amazingly toxic and not at all in the spirit of gaming as I grew up with.

On Linux, gaming is so simple. We are happy when games work and we love every single one of them.

@ruari I apologize for being somewhat active regarding Vivaldi lately. I do this out of interest 🤓

Is your company maintaining the Flathub version or am I downloading what someone else uploaded? See the pic please.

Help me decypher something. When I was younger there were and there was . What I mean by that is we would insert the game into the drive, be it or or whatever and, well, play until out eyes bled out. Later there was PC but the experience was similar.

Nowadays gamers tend to “play achievements and trophies”. Some are so addicted to that system that they MUST have a “platinum trophy” on every game they ever started. Even if they really dislike the game!

Why?

@darth@silversword.online avatar

I want to give the genre a try. I have been thinking about this for more than a year and I eventually settled on as the perfect JRPG (probably). And now there is that second dilemma: Should I play the first one or skip to the second one? The Internet claims the games are unrelated and the second one is simply better.

has just explained the whole plot line to me. This game's story is phenomenal. It's precisely what I wanted from a SciFi video game! :ablobcatheart:

@Vivaldi hi browser. can you please look into why I cannot watch SkyShowtime in Vivaldi on Linux? I have the latest Vivaldi installed as Debian package. I did a bit of a research before typing this post and apparently SkyShowtime uses "European Peacock DRM". Not sure if that means anything to you. Also I am on Wayland, but I don't think that would interfere with DRM? Thanks, and happy Easter!

I need advice or a hint from @gohugoio users. I want to make a fairly simple static webpage for a small restaurant, but the complex part is that they need to be able to edit this week’s menu. If I were the one editing the menu, that would be a no-brainer: SSH into my dev machine, edit the MD file, and do a simple git push. However, I need to make it simple for them, the restaurant staff. Please ping me if you have ideas.

Testing Mastodon from the command line using the program called "toot". Looks and functions very slick. Not that I expected it to not function, but there is one unexpected thing about it! See, as everyone else on Fediverse, I have been putting ALT text on my pictures in order to make this social media more accessible. However, by accessible I always thought of legally blind people. But now that I am in a CLI Mastodon program I came to fully appreciate everyone's effort on ALT texting. You rock.

Do we still think is pro consumer? Day one paid DLC? The fuq? I am not hating, I am simply not paying. That’s all. I will give them max 30€ for the complete edition. I don’t care when that will be, I have a ton of purchased unplayed games. Good luck to with this tactics.

This has been an amazing book.

:8bit_mario2: Although this book was mostly about Tom Kalinske, who took Sega from the ashes, defeated Nintendo big time, only for Sega's Japanese people to revert it back into ashes, I feel an unexpected respect towards Nintendo now that I know more about them. :1up:

So what do you think will happen with #Helldivers 2 next? (Steam satisfaction score is only 38% now)

  • gamers will bend the knee and give up complaining
  • #Sony will bend the knee and reconsider what PC gamers don’t want
  • neither. The game will slowly die.
