Currently running the new macOS Sonoma beta off an USB-C connected nVME drive in order to try out the game porting toolkit.

Who'd have thought 10Gbps was so slow.

I ran out of biscuits so I had to bake some more, and because I accidentally put in too much butter, they ended up spreading which as an happy accident means that they are perfect for ice-cream sandwiches.

An ice-cream sandwich consisting of two biscuits with ice cream in between, being held between fingers and thumb off my left hand.

It seems someone has caught a mouse outside our build room at work this morning.

How’s your morning? Mine has started with one dead tyre and one flat spare tyre.

Very flat spare.

Got back to that car tonight to go home, original spare was flat again. Glad I bought a new spare this morning.

A screw stuck in the spare tyre

Spotted on a work chat today, the word: okease

I can only assume they were trying to say ok and please at the same time.

My long suffering cans broke in a second place. Can probably still fix it with tape. But I'm starting to think it's time to replace em

david,
@david@theblower.au avatar

@ash if you have a soldering iron, you might be able to plastic weld that crack back together. Or there’s always superglue (cyanoacrylic).

@ash @phocks I'd previously repaired my son's headphones with duct tape and paddle-pop sticks. So no judgement here.

First attempt at a one piece triskele, a triple spiral symbol popular across neolithic europe, used extensively by the Celts and even the Greeks and Romans.

This particular one was made from a single piece of round bar. Two thirds of the length was split in two lengthwise, while the remaining portion was drawn out to the same length.

Then there was further drawing out of each arm, rounding and finally attempting to make three spirals the same.

The triskele sitting in the palm of my hand to illustrate scale. It takes up my entire palm easily.

Fixing my colleagues chair in the office (as you do), and found a loose bolt designed for a hex key (allen key).

Soo I break out my tools, hmm, 4mm is too small, 5mm is too big. Wtf? I don’t have a 4.5mm bit or hex key, so I rummage around in our random keys.

Turns our it’s #^%£ing IMPERIAL. 7/16ths to be precise. Gah!

I wonder about web-devs sometimes…. Like, why would swirling a graphic on a website when you mouse over it, ever sound like a good idea?

A screenshot graphic on a website, that ripples when the mouse is moved over it.

Just realised it's the coronation this Saturday. Gonna set out my stall early:
Approval of the British monarchy? On a 1-10 scale with 5 being neutral I'm probably a 6.
In favour of King being the Australian Head of State? Maybe a 3 in same scale.
Basically, probably going to watch it and be intrigued by all the pomp and history and the spectacle. But not going to a street party.
Am imagining bits of the fediverse gonna be pretty fierce come Saturday.

@Quokka I'm mostly pissed that we don't seem to get a public holiday for it.

Still trying to get the hang of sourdough. This loaf (fig, apricot and almond) is a full sourdough loaf (no added commercial yeast). Smells great, didn’t rise anywhere near enough.

A somewhat low, and therefore dense fruit loaf.
