Why can't I find any other IDE other than VS Codium? 😫

I have wanted to switch to something more simple like a normal text editor. No Git shit, no Electron shit, no nothing.

I just want to code locally and via SFTP - that's it! Anything else is bloatware in my eyes.

Windows has EditPlus1 that is just perfect for me. But can't use it and don't want to use it (closed source) because of Linux.

I am not a fan of Vim or similar at all. Too much configuration.

@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@Mehrad Nope, but I have now. It is terminal based = similar to Vim. I can't list all folders and files in a directory either = uninstalling.

Thanks anyway 🙂

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@Mehrad I wrote "no Vim or similar" 🙂 Everything that looks more or less like Vim and works more or less like Vim goes under "similar".

I am not a fan of Vim and similiar because I need to remember keyboard commands. Basically the only keyboard commands I want to use is Ctrl+S (save), Ctrl+F (search), and Ctrl+H (search and replace).

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@Mehrad Well, yes, but I can't see a tree of folders and files in a directory in micro 🙂 That's a must for me.

I have tested Kate already. Really liked it, but... https://fosstodon.org/@edgren/112107039924537687

Youngest son: Daaaaaad, do you have a nick name?

Me: No mate. Your mum has a few choice names for me, but none that I can repeat to you.

Him: [confused look] Oh…I think mine should be “Moonhead Invisinips”

Me: WHAT?!

I try not to be a hater of UI changes, but does get worse with every update

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@sotneStatue Me who doesn't use Spotify due to privacy issues, how does the new UI look like today?

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@sotneStatue Ey! Same timezone as me!

Well, yeah, I agree with you that the UI has been worst 😳

edgren, (edited )
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@sotneStatue Neither. When I listen to music, I listen to chillout, synthwave, trance, progressive trance, psytrance, ambient, and more via YouTube 🙂

I download the audio with yt-dlp1 and listens offline. The same for videos, but for watching, of course. No buffering, no tracking, just peaceful and total privacy 😌 As it should be.

But if I really want to listen to a album or something, I buy it online as downloadable FLAC files.

@thelinuxcast Too much customizations? 😅

Yeah, Firefox can be slow sometimes, but I would rather live with that than giving my data/life to Google and/or Microsoft.

it's 2024 and I still hate working with json

edgren,

@pltl Why? I find it very simple to work with JSON, but in PHP 🙂

Having big issues with my Apache based web server! I get SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG and I can't fix it!

Everything worked flawlessly 1 hour ago. I copied the updated and more secured .conf file from one of my domains and replaced it with the old one (backed up everything first, of course). After that, I get that error on all of my domains!

I have zero clue how to fix this!

Need to take a break from this now 😔 But if anyone have any clue how to fix this, please let me know.

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@martijn "sni"? What's that?

The thing is that I haven't touched any configuration since last night. And back then, I have only added some security stuff to my apache2.conf file. Please see screenshots. The commented lines are the new lines from last night.

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@martijn Ok, thank you for the explaination.

I added NameVirtualHost *:443 above <Directory /> and restarted Apache. No difference 😕

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@martijn Basically only this:

AH10034: The mpm module (prefork.c) is not supported by mod_http2. The mpm determines how things are processed in your server. HTTP/2 has more demands in this regard and the currently selected mpm will just not do. This is an advisory warning. Your server will continue to work, but the HTTP/2 protocol will be inactive.

Besides that, few PHP module errors ([insert thing here] already loaded) and a PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'pdo_sqlite'.

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@martijn I have had support for HTTP2 before. Had Protocols h2 http/1.1 since before. Added h2c last night.

Disabling proxy_http2 and after that http2 (was required to disable proxy_http2 first) and then restart Apache didn't solve the issue.

Removing h2c from the config file for a domain didn't solve the issue either. I knew it wouldn't do any difference, but I wanted to try 😆

edgren,
@edgren@fosstodon.org avatar

@martijn The issue is now fixed. Please see https://fosstodon.org/@edgren/111749802126569868 and the previous toot for the link to the config file.
