I’ve been rebuilding a installation that supports my classic Mac habit 😄

I used to use the awesome image which includes a ton of pre-configured software like . But it hasn’t been updated in a while so I used it as excuse to start from scratch.

I used this Pi Zero W as my starting point. HDMI video stopped working on it for unknown reasons. I added an Ethernet/USB hub hat and a 2 hat for devices.

Added a 3.5 Hard Drive for scale! I wasn't expecting such a chonky boy in the Apple SC80 case!

I am thinking of picking up a new Macintosh (probably 68000 based) for and the network. I only have Macintosh classics and Apple II computers. Any recommendations? Preferably something that won’t be a hassle to hook into a monitor, will run System 7 no problem.. and maybe even in color? Also Ethernet and LocalTalk supported is a must. Thank you!

    YouTube app on Apple TV is significantly better than the Roku version. It does have a bit of a quirk, though.

    If I adjust the playback speed of the video, the app remembers this even after I quit. On Roku, this would be reset to "1x".

    @yakkoj I do find the AppleTV experience to be so much better as well. The thing that drives me crazy about the appletv version of the YouTube app is when you pause it blocks so much of the screen! Sometimes I want to pause to see a graphic or read something and the way it makes the screen darker and the scroll bar never goes away is super aggravating. Other than that is fantastic.

    @geerlingguy I haven’t been back since they killed Apollo.. it’s been tough as I was on Reddit entirely too much. I do miss it some days but what they’re doing to it is disheartening.
