Cork icosahedron. Displayed here on a zebrawood reliquary. I keep thinking of different materials for the polyhedra.

I see a lot of icosahedra with numbers on the faces. I thought I would try engraving one of the wooden ones with those. I didn’t want it to be too plain. So, I made some knotwork to go around the numbers.

A small (~6cm / 2.25”) icosahedron whose wooden faces are engraved with a Celtic knot border surrounding numbers like a 20-sided die sits on an ornate 3-legged wooden stand.

@Binder But you've gotta do the cooking by the book.

A dragon may seem a strange choice for a holiday card but, I had the design in my head and, it really wanted out. Oh, and January 28th begins the Year of the Wood Dragon in the Lunar calendar. The wood underwent some processing, first to become paper, then to become a dragon.

A 3D paper card made by cutting and folding a single piece of paper to become the head of a dragon, backlit in red. Three-quarter view from above.

@bleeptrack I am really enjoying these!

I would love to see a tutorial on the animation and mapping, if that’s something you are into doing.

Does anyone have an idea what to do with a bunch of modern-ish Magic The Gathering cards, all lands and commons and uncommons? Maybe a way to donate them for kids to play with or something?

@thomasfuchs Some public libraries have games programs that teach and play M:tG.

@valkyrie Nomad Sculpt and Blender for more organic modeling. FreeCAD for precision and parametric stuff. I have used Fusion360 and the concepts transfer well with FreeCAD.

Nomad Sculpt seems more intuitive and faster to learn but, I already had a pretty good grasp of Blender when I started with it.
