@kfury I understand your point. I wouldnt let my children go there.
However the true reason why the bike lane is so small is that "nobody" wants to go by bike. People prefer cars.

Thats sad but true.

@kfury Maybe it's different here in Europe but I life in a small village with some hills around. The situatuation for me is that I prefer the car because its convenient, safer, quicker, warmer, almost weather independent, can transport whatever I want, dont need to shower once I arrive, can use it when I feel a little unhealthy,..... And the car and road is there.
This causality is at least true for me. I think many people just say that they wanna go if this or that happens. But they won't.

I’m not an electrical engineer, and so one of the things I struggle with is finding the right components, even when I basically know what I am after. For some things it does not matter, an 0402 100nF 10V cap is all I have to say and JLC just pick one.

But some things have trade offs in the spec and size and price and availability which make it hard to find the best part, especially when LCSC saying “10,000 matches”.

I just want a good, in stock, small, TVS diode for 5V and 3.3V working :-)

@revk you could look on the datasheet of the part you want to protect. Maybe they have an application note on how to protect it (i.e. How quick should the diode be?) Regarding the diode you should look for the max power it can withstand and enough reserve to the voltage below it should work in high resistance.
Connecting this diode on the pcb its also important to not use the same ground as the protected device.

@revk I mean i. E. The ground of the housing but not close to the component. Or make sure you have a decent impedance of your ground plane in that vincinity.

    Hat jemand schon einmal versucht, in der Datenschutzerklärung von Microsoft oder Google wirklich aussagekräftige Informationen zu finden? Fast jeder Dienst bzw. jede App/Software hat seine eigenen Bestimmungen und dann wird wild auf verschiedene Datenschutzerklärungen verwiesen, die so allgemein gehalten sind, dass man eigentlich nicht weiß, was jetzt mit den Daten passiert. Aber nicht nur das, man wird auch im Kreis verwiesen. Das ist sehr verwirrend - aber wahrscheinlich auch so gewollt. 🤦‍♂️

    Are there any other #Linux users here with #Nvidia hardware? I've been using the #KDE spin of Fedora 38 for over a year now, and while I adore KDE and have for years, I'm having some issues lately and I can't help but wonder if Nvidia's crappy #Linux drivers are not a great fit for KDE. 😔

    Have any of you lovely #DistroHoppers tried both #Gnome and KDE on Nvidia? Is there any noticeable difference in performance/compatibility/bugginess? Would switching to Gnome be a better fit for my system, or would I likely see all the same issues?

    In that same vein, has anyone had any luck getting Wayland to work well on Nvidia hardware? IIRC, #Fedora 39 or 40 is going to cut X11 altogether, which is tough for me cause Fedora is my favorite #distro, but Wayland is a terrible experience for me, at least with Fedora KDE and my RTX 2070 Super.

    I'm so tempted just to ditch Nvidia altogether, but I would miss DLSS and good performance with raytracing, so it's a really hard choice. 😥

    @ADHDefy I couldnt find anything stable (running more than a day) with nvidia besides a standard distro 35, 36, 37, 38. All other attempts failed. Arch or Debian latest kernel or lts, gnome, kde or hyprland all suck on .

    @ADHDefy aaah I forgot: gnome seems more stable but maybe because there are more buggy kde apps in my workflow.

    Setting up a new Windows PC in a long while. People complain about Mac, but, man. Windows setup: "Would you like to sign in to MS or sign in to MS? How about create a pin or create a pin? Which 6 hours of the day would you like to designate as the we won't reboot and fuck your work time? Windows wants to send all your data to MS? No? Windows wants to send all your data again? No? K. Complete population with one belief hacks on the other popularion with different belief. One population takes the space of the other and thats a problem because they have different beliefs. If they were the same nothing would happen. What other reasons do you see?

    @jgg @freemo I strongly disagree. Almost all conflicts in the world are fired with religion. Without stupid religious feelings the fire would stop burning. Maybe people will find different reasons but for now its religion.

    I de-activated my Twitter account today. I had decided to keep it without posting a while back, just in case anyone would try to use my handle to write weird stuff and impersonate me, but I realized there’s no way I’m ever going back to Twitter and posting anything there.

    If someone impersonates me, well, since Twitter has become so ridiculous and toxic, I’m sure people will accept that it’s not me talking.
