IMO there is something inherently psychopathic in algorithm-driven social media.

That you have to adjust all your communicative output to ”trick” a number generator capable of faking human emotive response to become noticed, is..

Aika villiä että joku yritys kokee että vammaisurheilijan tukeminen olisi haitaksi imagolle. Tietäisinpä mitkä yritykset ovat näitä vastauksia antaneet niin joku voisi näyttää niille mikä on imagohaitta.

@ManyRoads Fascism is not an insult. It’s a historical reference.

Threatening Russia’s control of Crimea—and inflicting grave damage to its economy and society—will, of course, be difficult. But it is a more realistic strategy than the proposed alternative: a negotiated settlement while Putin is in office.

Putin has never agreed to respect Ukrainian sovereignty—and never will. If anything, Russia’s rhetoric about the war has become more annihilationist, invoking the Russian Orthodox Church and suggesting that the conflict is something like a holy war, with existential consequences.

Any negotiation in the current circumstances would at best leave Ukraine crippled, partitioned, and at the mercy of a second Russian invasion. At worst, it would eliminate the country altogether.

No sustainable, long-term peace can emerge from negotiations with an aggressor that has genocidal intent.

Ukraine and the West must either win or face devastating consequences.
(EXACTLY!)

@markmetz And don’t forget that it’s manpower isn’t infinite either. 16000 troops were lost in capturing Avdiika.

It might not run short this year, maybe even not the next, but when Moscow kids have to start to die for the empire, Putin won’t be loved anymore.

Russia has a three-tier-soviety. The oligarchs, the Muscovites & the rest. Only the lowest of the three is expendable.

With regard to for , I think it is reasonable to assume the big AI companies will scrape everything.

So it makes sense to build new forums of expression only behind walls of strong

And when I say strong, I mean it.

To use such a system, the user would have to provide a pulse, electric conductivity of the skin and other life signs and do so long enough with an implementation vetted by the strongest security ever scrutinized to even permit login.

My thesis on proof that we’re NOT living in a simulation:

Continued bafflement of scientists about rules that seemed simple breaking every time they zoom smaller and smaller.

When we’ve found out everything, THEN I’ll have reason to suspect we’re in one.
