• one picture of them kissing — from the show that popularized them
• one picture of them being cute together at a fanmeeting — you can see their in-ear headphones!
• a solo promo picture of one of them
Seems legit.
I hate stuff like this. It comes up so often. They’re just there to scam whatever ad revenue they can off of clicks. And presumably it’s profitable enough to keep at it.
There’s more I can pick apart about the practice of these videos and how they parallel tabloids without the budget.
And some thoughts about how much of themselves performers do share just by being performers and maybe it’s a good idea to let them set the pace for that, instead of trying to grab more.
@glitchontwitch@JillsJoy I started watching Happiness to join in. Are there plot holes or am I just slow? Like why did Sae Bom help zombie wife escape the bathroom? How was zombie wife even trapped in the bathroom in the first place? Are the zombies unable to open doors for themselves? Should I stop asking questions like this and just go with it?
The little girl is the best part, and her friendship with Sae Bom.
Before: she believed the wife was probably not in an episode and was checking in/likely going to try to talk to her before getting her help.
After: honestly, I think half of that was spite. The husband was trying to kill her, and kept the wife in those conditions. The wife wasn’t being malicious to her, even in that state. Between the two, she sided with the wife. Make him face her.
@emmaaum@JillsJoy trying to restrain the wife in the bathroom would have been more dangerous for her as she would have less room to maneuver, and didn’t have the pillow to block the bite.
Outside she had more space and access to more tools.
These are just my theories and interpretation, natch.
@emmaaum@JillsJoy no problem. Also it’s worth bearing in mind she would very much get side eye from a therapist.
She’s reckless. Her problem solving skills tend towards the destructive ( pushing Yi Hyun off the roof, the thing she did in medical training, kicking down the cinder blocks).
She also seems to specifically have developed a bit of “survivor’s” guilt about the disease that I think motivates her tendency to put herself in danger around them.
@emmaaum Marry my Dead Body, which all promotional material I saw emphasized the comedy aspect.
And like, it may actually be as silly as all that, but also with some strong bittersweet. That’s a valid mode of storytelling and works really well, the contrast emphasizing each part. I just didn’t know it was that here.

this is just fabulous. earnest lakorn angst, scheming villains, others pushed into desperate acts and scheming, gender balanced cast with central roles for women that drive the plot, family drama oh the drama, found family within the Family, side plot of a plucky young woman trying to single-handedly save her household AND refuse to marry without love, sweet kids, the best brothers, and one more thing but i'll leave that a secret 😉
Sometimes when people argue with you online, they are picking up on an older argument that wasn't even about you or with you. An old argument they lost with someone else. You have the vague shape of their old enemy. They want to pick up the fight again. They want you to play the role of their old foe, desperately.
This often 'works' because in treating you like another person they insult you. So maybe you get angry.
And then you talk past each other and nothing is learned.
@massivelyop This is pure speculation, as I don’t actually know pricing for stuff like this, but 15k seems awfully cheap given what they claim they have?
If that’s actually the case (that it’s a very low price) I wonder if the goal is to “sell” it to multiple overeager people who want to rush in and grab it, only to board up windows, so to speak, when the check clears.
If it’s not, I learned something new today: Masterminding a data breach won’t even pay off my college loans.
never fails, i finally convince myself the schizophrenic neighbour is safely in the hospital and he shows up, pounding on my door, peering in the window, demanding i get a joiner to let him in because he's lost his key. He hasn't, but that doesn't stop him from trying to break his door or window.
So instead of taking care of myself, because my own needs fall through the cracks in services, i'm waiting for Housing to ring back so i can tattle on him in hopes it gets him better support.
