Why is it that some people are so dismissive of others' mental health struggles? Is it that they have a specific idea of what something "should" be and it doesn't fit into that? (e.g., you don't have hallucinations, you can't be schizophrenic, etc.)

@calculsoberic some people dont understand mental health problems. in many of those cases an explanation how and why stuff happens etc. helps them alot. especially with more distant cases so they dont get to emotionally when discussing those cases.

positive example:

i gave a relative Kafka books and they told me it is the first time they realized a child could be abused mentally by their parents without being physically abused in anyway. they had pretty nice parents and couldnt imagine mental abuse haunting a grownup educated man like kafka.

another more harder reason some people dismiss mental health in my experience is fear. if mental health issues are real they could affect them. as long as they deny their existen

very old German professor misunderstood the pronoun thing in mails and put "they/them", thinking it would be German polite form "Sie".

he got invited to LGBTIQ stuff and asked me what to do. I suggested he should go and offered to join if he wanted :comfy_cirno:

Also wenn ich und von Grund auf verstehen will, dann komme ich wohl um das Buch von Donald Knuth "The TEXbook" nicht drum herum oder? 🤔

Das Spannende an dem Buch ist aktuell, dass auf den ersten Seiten keine Übungen am Programm kommen, sondern man grundsätzliche Dinge über Typografie lernt. 😅

Ein völlig anderer Ansatz, der mir gut gefällt. Alles erstmal ohne PC.

@kaia @necrosis afaik ist es perfekt wenn man die Struktur und den Aufbau lernen möchte. Knuth packt wohl auch immer paar Witze rein.

Als Referenz um tatsächlich eine Datei zu schreiben ist es eher unpraktisch.
