People, please, if you're having a discussion with someone, please give them your attention or at the very least, let them know that you're preoccupied and will respond when possible. And if you're really preoccupied, ask if you can talk later.

There's nothing more frustrating then trying to discuss something with a distracted person and having to correct their assumptions and repeat yourself constantly.

I could never have dreamed of doing a full plate of mixed parts on any of my previous printers.. and here we go first try with only some minor issues on the first layer.. 🤩

@eoin 10 years ago with my first 3d printer I printed out these huge lego minifigs with christmas outfits for christmas gifts. I'm doing it again with my brand new bambu lab p1s and it's astounding how much better the quality and speed is!

Here's a picture of the old ones from 10 years ago. I'm waiting on some more filament, so right now I'm just doing torsos, bottom of the hats, and the fringe at the bottom of the torso that i couldn't do previously because I'd always break it during assembly

@eoin yeah they're pretty fun. The funny part is that i needed to use a dremel to get parts together 10 years ago, and now i might need super glue to keep them together 🤣

@kurtseifried People I have met in person have been calling me a robot/machine for years so if physical presence doesn't do it, I don't think a text signature will make a difference...

@drewdevault I couldn't agree more with this. That said the people responsible for promotion of them have been dropping the ball in multiple ways which makes it more difficult than it should be to defend using free software licenses...

Valuing typing speed while programming feels similar to taking a detour while driving to avoid having to stop at traffic lights.
Like it's important for us to think we're going to get to our destination faster but in the end it doesn't really matter.
