So one of the things I had always believed, but was so very wrong about was that calories burned was additive. So for example:

🏃‍♂️ If you have a base calorie burn of 2500kcal (or 2000kcal) and you do a run that burns 300kcal: that is not a total deficit of 2800kcal / 2300kcal for the day.

💡 Your body is clever, and distributes the calories to where they are needed, but generally speaking it doesn't give you excess to spend on more eating.

Which was an eye opener for me, for sure.

@Natureshadow These are the sources I'm basing this off, though I misspoke. They do add up, it's just that the value given by most trackers is wrong. I thought I did have a source on the non-additive BMR stat, but failing to find it in my history. I'll edit to reflect.

One of the most under-used features of Mastodon is audio. You can attach audio files to your posts, they can be in MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A or 3GP formats. They can be any length, as long as the file size is under 40 megabytes (some servers may have even higher limits).

I've attached an example audio file to this post, you should be able to play it on most interfaces and apps.

Wanted to show off what @Polarie_Fox and I had been working on last weekend:

We made a Tag for my collar with a slot for exchangeable NFC Tags on the back. I still need to think of a way to paint the stars in yellow on mine but it's already scannable and links to my unit.link

How okay is it to wear a collar in public? Obviously not when I'm out buying groceries or so but like for attending Suitwalks (as a guest) or CSD.
And is it okay/safe to already wear it on your way there or only when you arrive?

I kinda want to get one but also be able to use it without feeling in danger, shunned, etc...
