My issue is with the definition of defense, seeing as the US’s department of war is called the department of defense and in the past israel’s actions have been excused as a right to defend itself.
Yeah, israel already has all it needs to carry out this mission. It remains to be seen if this action now will do anything, but given past actions by the US, I’m afraid it won’t go far enough to stop israel.
It made sense to me when I could take advantage of a tax credit for EVs in 2017. Now that car companies/dealerships simply jack up prices to eat that discount, it doesn’t make sense even in that case.
The European Commission chief said she was “convinced that if the competition is fair” from China, then Europe “will have thriving durable economies”. But she said the “imbalances” caused by state support for Chinese industry leading to cut-cost products threatened jobs in Europe, and that was “a matter of great...
*ALDI is cheaper because all of their products suck. Their produce sucks, their packaged goods suck, and their meats aren’t actually cheaper. I think less of anyone who recommends ALDI and regret all the effort I put into giving it a chance.
I guess this is a regional phenomenon because the aldi stores near me have all been great and cheaper.
Could be? It absolutely is! That would be an extra 50 miles I would have to drive every weekday. They have entire global organizations meeting together to figure out where to set goals for cutting emissions, but these easily-avoidable emissions are fine apparently. The so-called “leaders” aren’t taking the problem seriously.
“Taking away the argument” by giving republicans what they want doesn’t work. I’ve seen this argument made for decades now and it’s as stupid today as it was the first time it was thought up. In fact it’s even more stupid now because there are decades of instances of this never working. What ends up happening is republicans get what they want, they continue to complain anyway, and the country moves to the right even more.
Democrats are letting republicans dominate the conversation and set the parameters for what is considered worth caring about and what is considered an acceptable solution. Even if republicans vote down every one of these measures, they will still use it as a benchmark for future legislative battles, especially when they get in power again (a 100% inevitability thanks to our broken two-party system).
Greed is just one part of the equation of higher prices. You also need opportunity. If prices ramped up so rapidly without a plausible excuse, then it would lead to an investigation. Hell, the egg producers took their excuse of bird flu too far and jacked up prices about 6x, which was so ridiculous that it did lead to the threat of an investigation and that alone magically got the price down to “only” about 2x.
It doesn’t map so simply. Greed will try to push prices up as high as possible, but what’s possible depends on other factors. People can understand how a global pandemic causing supply issues would lead to higher prices, but greed took full advantage of that understanding and pushed it far beyond limits.
There are many scams and a lot of them don’t involve a contract at all. There are also ones that do involve a contract and upholding it is part of the scam. Regardless, you missed the point that just because someone pays the price, doesn’t mean everything is fine and dandy.

The answer is to continue to pressure democrats, known as “the good party”, to actually do good things they claim they want to do but refuse to actually do.
I don’t know what the full range is doing differently, but the portable induction cooktops are very cheap and they seem like they do the same thing. Doesn’t seem like an induction range would be more expensive than a regular electric range other than artificial markup like you said.
