I started watching the Fallout series with the family but as soon as the first episode ended, I annoyed everyone by playing YouTube videos of every visual reference in episode 1 while saying stuff like “the playing basketball with bricks is a reference to the popularity of Japanese basketball leagues in pre-war Seattle and the people trying to recreate it while they were in the internment camp”

It seems like in the 90s there was a new catchphrase that everyone was repeating once a season, but these days is there just too much competition for our attention for anything to stick?

These days even when a really good episode hits (i.e. Ryan Goslin one a few weeks back) we enjoy it for a week and then move on.

Funny— I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, since we are doing a full watch-through of “Seinfeld”.

Although Jerry and Larry David have a lot in common and are terrific collaborators, when you look at Jerry’s standup and all his interviews vs Larry’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and all his interviews, you see they have very different feeling about and humanity.

Tech bloggers cheering on the US TikTok ban have no clue the level of connection and community that people of all ages have made on the app. Not just “the kids” by any means.

How Twitter was used as the town square by tech in the 2010’s, except TikTok is everybody.

@DavidDarnes ...while I've got your "attention" - would I regret anything by swapping over to Ghost on my domain now and just slowly copy / pasting the past 1,000 posts over from a local install of my previous Eleventy set up?

Or if I kill the domain name from previous posts will that wreck importing somehow (whether automated or manual)?

As a person who did not watch it, asking honestly, was “Game of Thrones” a good show, or a shared experience? No one seems to talk about it now, or want to rewatch it. Is it fair to put it in the “Lost” bin and not bother or should I consider it?

@agiletortoise I genuinely like the series and did rewatch it when my wife wanted to watch it, and I enjoyed it on rewatch. The ending isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it also had super high expectations on it so... 🤷‍♂️

I think you can know what to expect from the series if you enjoy the first 3 or 4 episodes of season 1.

@mathowie Any post-honeymoon CMS thoughts on switching to Ghost? I've been hesitating on pulling the trigger after a decade of either WordPress or Jekyll style CMS. Ghost is looking like a great option from this side of the fence but curious how it is further down the road?

I use Finder tags to organize my (way way way… too many) programming projects…

And i have a (https://just.systems) script that automatically adds tags to them based on their status on github (public, private, fork, etc etc).

I use this - and Finder smart folders - to manage a list of current(-ish) projects I am working on rather easily.

Probably need to archive a bunch of these now though.

@schwa I've long thought that Finder tags + smart folders is a under utilized organizational hack on macOS, but I can never figure out a great system. This looks great though.
