On Saturday, 5/11 and Saturday, 5/18 from 1–4 p.m. we're running a workshop on hosting a website at home! You'll learn to set up an Apache web server on a single-board computer, then you'll configure Dynamic DNS so your site stays online when your IP address changes. We'll have complete kits for sale, or you can bring your own SBC with Ubuntu installed. Registration is required for this one!

@skyfaller Thanks for the article! We want to get people thinking more about privacy, but we definitely don't want to give a false sense of security. We'll talk about limitations and pitfalls at the workshop.

Our approach has been to use a lot of layers of foil and paper. If you want to use thicker foil, you can find it in toner cartridge packaging.

A homemade Faraday shield won't be perfect, and without proper security culture it's worse than useless. But still it's still a good technique to know!

Our router hacking challenge is complete! Stop by Iffy Books on Saturday, 7/29 from 1 to 5 p.m. and we’ll show you how to install OpenWrt (open firmware) on the Atlas Media/Tenda router we've been working on. We have plenty of routers and USB serial kits to go around.
